Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe got a little lost trying to find the entrance.
A beautiful oasis close to the old town! Maria was very helpful and friendly — she told us all the places we had to see. The room fit three perfectly, and her garden was beautiful. The kitchenette also had everything we needed (no stove, etc), but it was what we needed for our trip.

FinlandThe distance to old town is short but when returning to the hotel there are lots of stairs. Fortunately Dubrovnik city pass contained free bus rides so we used bus when the heat was too much for climbing
Maria is a friendly and helpful hostess. She gave us lots of good tips for what to see and visit in Dubrovnik. Our room was clean and big enough for three adults. We enjoyed the lovely garden and summer kitchen very much.

NetherlandsNothing not to like :)
We absolutely loved our stay, especially the outdoor kitchen, which was such a unique and relaxing spot to cook and hang out. The bedroom was clean, super comfortable, and always smelled incredible thanks to the fresh sheets and the touch of fresh rosemary. The location was great too - peaceful but still within easy reach of everything we needed. We didn’t have a balcony, but the outdoor space more than made up for it! Oh and Maria is simply the best :) She picked us up from the ferry when we arrived, gave us a bunch of great tips for Dubrovnik, and even dropped us off at the bus stop when it was time to head to the airport. Such a warm and thoughtful experience from start to finish!

Marija is a great host, she is very friendly and even gave us welcome drinks. She was very helpful when we have questions and even wants to bring us to the busstation. The location is very near the old town around 15 min walking by foot. Near the guesthouse is a supermarkt and a local bakery (pekara). Her garden is also very cute and cozy.

GermanyThe owner was very sweet and accommodating. She cared a lot about us having fun and enjoying the trip! She drew us a map and showed us the best local spots for food, sightseeing and swimming/tanning! She also keeps a book so tourists can write about they're trip and experiences. All in all we had fun in Croatia and she made the trip even better by being so accommodating!! She has a beautiful garden with turtles, vines and tanning spots! I highly recommend you stay here!! It was awesome

Her summer kitchen and garden were a great place to start and end the day with a cup of coffee or glass of wine. As a solo traveler I felt very safe and welcome and would recommend her guesthouse to other solo travelers 100%

Staying with Maria is like staying with your mum! (In a good way lol). She helped us with information, did our washing, gave us some home made wine, gave us a lift to the ferry terminal... The flat was lovely and the balcony had a view of the sea and the sunset. The garden doesn't have a view but is a beautiful, restful place to chill after sightseeing.

The host is super kind and helpful!!! First of all, she has prepared some soft drinks in the fridge for us. Then, when I asked about if I could use the washing machine, she even offered to do the laundry, dry the clothes and collect them afterwards for me without any extra charges. I am so grateful for everything she did! I would definitely recommend travelers to pick this guest house!

IrelandYou might get bites on the veranda, so insect repellent is a must, although Maria offered that too!! Traditional & rustic accommodation, so while perfect for us, if you like the finer things in holiday accommodation, maybe try a hotel!
Maria was superb - so helpful. Loved the outdoor kitchen on the veranda. The house was in a great location - close enough to walk to the Old Town, but not too close - far enough away from tourist hustle & bustle!

RomaniaEverything was as the host promised in the previous conversations. Maria met us closed to her guest house, assisted with luggage and with the car parking. She provides free parking, which is a good thing, since parking in the city of Dubrovnik may prove expensive and difficult to find, especially in the close proximity of beaches and Oldtown. The place where the car is parked may be a little distant if one chooses to walk there (10 to 15 min uphill, depending on your fitness status), but she will drive you there and back anytime you need the car. But we didn't need the car for the entire durations of our stay (4 nights), since it's only a 10 minutes walk from the house to Oldtown Dubrovnik or the nearest beach - Beach Šulić. The room itself, where we stayed, wasn't that big, but it was clean and provided the basics after a day of walking the streets of old Dubrovnik. Also, you can use a nice country stile kitchen (shared with the other guests), which is down on a terrace with access to her beautiful garden. The garden is an attraction for kids, especially due to the turtles living there. At the time of our stay, an orange tree and an olive tree were displaying their fruits (not ripe yet, though).

United KingdomMaria is an amazing host, it's like staying with a friend or family. She collected us from the bus station even though our flight was delayed and we missed the bus we should have been on and brought us back there for our onward trip to Montenegro. The room was spotlessly clean and I love the touch of leaving herbs from her garden on the towels. The room had a kettle and fridge but we preferred to use the outdoor kitchen on the terrace overlooking the lovely garden. It is a good place to mingle with other guests as well and get ideas of things to do although Maria will also give you a map and point out all the places of interest. The little supermarket across the road is very handy and does good fresh bread and pastries for breakfast. I'd have no hesitation in recommending Maria's lovely home as a place to stay in Dubroknik.
