Clean hostel, the curtains for the beds makes all the difference, it gives you more privacy. The location it’s perfect, close to all the main attractions.

The location of the bathroom in the rooms is a bit weird, you can hear everything.

Comfortable beds, friendly staff, good kitchen and shared areas, perfect location

The shower in our room had an unpleasant smell and in general it was quite uncomfortable - no shelves, no proper hangers, etc.

The location is fantastic – close to everything and still quiet enough to relax. The staff were kind and helpful, and the outdoor terrace is really nice. After changing rooms, I slept amazingly well and felt very comfortable. A lovely hostel overall, especially for solo travelers.

I had originally booked a private room with a bathroom for four nights – paying over 500 euros. The first room didn’t match the description: there was no clothes rack inside the room, and although air conditioning was advertised, it could not be controlled individually. This is a health issue for me, so I had to request a different room. Thankfully, they were able to give me another one with independent AC control – but that should have been clear from the start.

Unsafe room, things get stolen during the day. No ventilation, very uncomfortable couch, flattest pillow they found. The shower leaked into the room, making it a mess. The kitten has barely any utensils and just an outdoors sink. Storage offered for luggage has no security measures, you can just walk in at any time, while the same floor is shared with the restaurant next door. On the room safety: I left a pair of flipflops and water shoes in the dorm to dry out during the day and they "disappeared" when I came back in the afternoon. This was a 6 bed room for only women, and all over guests had already checked out when I left the room and locked it that same morning. I politely asked the staff at the reception and they at least offered to check with the cleaning personnel but did not even say they were sorry or acknowledged they'd been stolen. One of the volunteers working there was nice, but the owner showed an attitude of not caring and just waiting for me to go away. They offered to check the "lost and found" room, where they keep things people leave behind. While they weren't there, it's not as if cleaning personnel thought things had been left behind, as my bikini and some cosmetic items were still there.

My locker was on the top and it was so high up I couldn’t put my bag up there as I couldn’t reach and there was no way to get a lower one. The rooms are also bit squishy. The kitchen doesn’t have an oven or cooktop so you can’t even cook in there

Our stay at the Design Hotel One was excellent. The bed was extremely comfortable and the location couldn’t have been better, everything was right on our doorstep. The staff were super friendly and went above and beyond, letting us store our luggage and continue using the facilities after check-out, which was such a huge help with our heavy backpacks.

If you are planning on staying in split for only a few nights and don’t need much , this is the right hostel to stay in. It was clean and it couldn’t be more central in split Oldtown . Shops and also the sea is within a 1-2 min. walk, which is perfect. Staff is very friendly.

It’s a typical hostel style, but for me personally I wouldn’t want to stay more than 2-3 nights, cause I would like a room a little more comfy and nice looking and just „cozier“. But it’s a hostel and not a hotel, so for a hostel I think it’s a nice place, only especially in summer a little pricy.

The location is really good. It’s quite clean and comfortable.

The storage cupboards were tough to reach (the top row). The shower either gave really hot water or cold water - no in between.

The front desk staff during the day is great! The location is prime and it’s centrally located to everything.

The overnight front desk attendant came across as unfriendly and easily annoyed, which didn’t make for the warmest welcome. That said, you generally get what you pay for with this property. The biggest issue we experienced was with the shower. Its poor design causes water to spill out onto the bathroom floor, leaving it constantly wet. With three adults sharing a room, this became not only inconvenient but also potentially hazardous. Another downside is the lack of housekeeping during the stay. Rooms are not serviced, and trash is not emptied until checkout. After five nights, at the very least, trash removal and a quick mopping of the bathroom floor would have made a big difference—or providing guests with a mop would be a simple solution.

The location is perfect, the center of the city at Riva. Also, shoutout to great staff and volunteers who were more than helpful, friendly and welcoming!

I think they should add more social events, pub crawls/bar hopping experience etc.

I had a single room; it was clean and cozy. It was also not noisy at night, unlike what you often experience in hostels. The staff were also very friendly.

There are no options to take a shower after checkout. They don’t have shared showers, only the ones inside the rooms.

Communal area, clean facilities & friendly staff. Location was also excellent.

The only gripe I have is that the pillows aren’t great. They were quite flimsy & difficult to sleep on. Beyond that, everything was super!
