The rooms are really very nice, we had a great balkoon with seeview. The beach is very close and really nice, it is not so crowded as other places. The wellness opportunities were also really nice.

AustriaThe staff is not very friendly. The trees near the pool create coolness and comfort. This is why we chose this hotel. But all the trees are sick and drying up. The trees are not looked after. As the hotel staff explained, these trees belong to the city park and the hotel is not obliged to look after them.

MaltaThe only thing that we recommend is that the gymnasium opens a bit late.
All Staff was fantastic and always checking that all was good. Breakfast and dinner was very good. I liked that that the dinner was varied each day although it was buffet. Pools were clean and beach area was good too. Facilities were good too. Entertainment in the evening was very nice too. Although its a family oriented hotel we as a couple really enjoyed it too. Well done!

Our stay at Hotel Excelsior was truly wonderful. The rooms are cleaned daily, with fresh towels and regularly changed bed linen – everything always spotless and well-kept. The food is delicious and varied, and the real highlight was the amazing pizza baked on site. The staff are extremely kind, attentive, and do their best to make every guest feel welcome. The hotel has a fantastic location – just a short walk from both the beach and the center of Lovran. Another big plus is the peaceful atmosphere – also thanks to paid drinks at dinner, there are no loud parties or drunk guests, which makes it a perfect place to relax. We also really appreciated the underground parking – even though it’s paid, anyone who has been in this area knows how difficult it is to find a parking spot, so it’s a great convenience.

FinlandBreakfast was always the same. Fish dishes at the dinner were usually dry and not fresh. Worst thing was that there was not even possibility to get tapwater for free at dinner and bottled water was like 5€, which is quite unacceptable in our opinion. Drink prices in general were ridiculously high compared to general price level in Croatia. In the spa only one sauna was in operation, steam bath and second sauna were out of order but we saw no effort at all in the whole week of anybody trying to fix it. There was no toilet in the vicinity of the beach, you had to climb a lot of stairs inside into the hotel to use one. Overall the price-quality ratio of the hotel felt off, we payed 2300€ for 8 nights (including hefty dog fee 25€/night) and I think the experience did not quite live up to the money used although otherwise it was a great hotel.
Private hotel beach with free sunbeds and umbrellas (unlike other hotels), well cleaned and comfortable, peaceful room that filled all our wishes, professional and pleasant staff especially at the restaurant, dog was allowed almost everywhere and she got a comfortable bed to stay in with some snacks and a bowl, food in the restaurant was generally very yummy, Lovran was small, beautiful, calm and cozy

The hotel has direct beach access. Breakfast and dinner were very varied. There was parking at the hotel, we were at the end of May. There is a large supermarket nearby. The staff were lovely. The hotel was clean.

SerbiaThe rooms were clean and spacious. The hotel staff was very friendly. The Liri Club animators were excellent. The hotel building is old and in need of renovation, but the interior is much better than the exterior facade. The pool with heated sea water was excellent. The beach, like the entire coastline in that area, is rocky and mostly accessible by stairs, except for one small section with pebbles. The hotel’s location is excellent—close to the old town and the bus station for Opatija and Rijeka, while being situated right on the beach.

The perfect balance between the stylish Opatija and true-to-itself Lovran. A place where you find your balance in the soft blue of the sky, the dark blue of the water and the ruggedness of the coastal pines. The hotel could not have been positioned better. A true gem!

SloveniaThe staff is super friendly and the rooms are great. We got upgraded for the sea view which is really fantastic. The pool area is quiet and perfect for a swim. The saunas become a bit too hot in the afternoon. Everything was perfect, except we were missing a kettle for water in our room and it would be really helpful to have a shoe horn in our room. Overal a great stay.
