How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery nicely equipped, modern apartment house with very good sense of detail. Friendly owner. Great selection of local wines provided for the guests.
This is not really a fault of the property itself, but one can’t help wondering why such unattractive buildings were put up right by the seaside, blocking part of the beautiful sea view from the windows :)

Verified reviewThe accommodation was super clean, very stylish, arty and modern. The beds were comfy and we liked the quiet area, which helpfully was on the bus route. The owner was also friendly and answered any questions that we had. We also really appreciated the shared kitchenette area, croissants each morning and that we could get drinks or plate up food.
There were no issues at all during our stay.

Verified reviewOur stay was very pleasant, the room was very clean and nice. There were complimentary croissants for breakfast, drinks in the fridge (fruit juice, milk and wine!) and a coffee machine. Iva was very friendly and helpful, she even leant us a parasol for the beach! Our dog got some biscuits too!
The bed is a bit soft

All in all, Congratulations and thank you for making and maintaining a place like this, its rare to find such lovely 'home' ( We find the place easily by car and parking was fine too. )

Verified reviewWhat an absolute delight of a place! The attention to detail, decor and beautifully presented breakfast was amazing. Iva was really helpful and accommodated us being vegetarian at breakfast with something different every day - we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay. It's in a residential area so nice and quiet and free on street parking right nearby. The use of the little kitchen area and lounge was a nice touch. There was even complimentary drinks and snacks. There isn't a huge number of places to eat nearby but there was enough for a few days - even being vegetarian. The little bistro up the road was lovely. Would highly recommend this place.

Verified reviewA home away from home! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Engine Room and I can honestly say it was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment we arrived, the owner (Iva) greeted us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that made us feel at home. The service was outstanding. The small team (Iva & Renata from the Housekeeping) did their best to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Whether it was giving us local recommendations, fulfilling special requests or just checking in to see how we were doing, their attentiveness was truly remarkable. What surprised me most was the little thoughtful touches with coffee. A croissant for guests and a little bag of treats for the four-legged friends. 🫶 The atmosphere of the hotel is incredibly welcoming. The cozy decor and thoughtful details throughout the building made us feel like a home rather than just a place to stay. Our room was not only clean and well-equipped, but also had a personal touch that added to the overall charm. What stood out most was the genuine friendliness of the staff. They made us feel like valued guests and their willingness to help with anything we needed was much appreciated. It is rare to find such a dedicated and friendly team and it really made our stay special. Coming from this industry we are very critical so if you are looking for a place where you are treated like family I can highly recommend "Engine Room". We left with wonderful memories and a desire to return. Thank you for an unforgettable experience! ❤️

Verified reviewOur stay at Engine Rooms was absolutely perfect. The room is super clean, comfortable, and has air conditioning. Outside the room, there is a small "coffee and tea station" as well as a fridge with a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, which were all included. For breakfast, we received fresh croissants every day as well as some fresh figs. We got treated super nicely and definitely recommend Engine Rooms! Thank you very much!

Verified reviewThis is a rare gem and if you’re lucky enough to get a reservation, you will not be disappointed. Our room was spotless, the attention to detail shows from the moment you walk through the front entrance into a lovely sun room which is also the breakfast area; there’s also a glimpse of the sea. The bedroom is very fresh and cool, equipped with all your needs; a very comfortable bed with crisp linen, soft laundered towels and all the necessary bath soaps provided. A great shower too! Morning breakfast is served beautifully from a fully equipped/spotless kitchen offering a vast selection of teas and coffees/machine to make hot drinks. Iva is the loveliest host with the kindest nature. Thank you for looking after us and going that extra mile taking us to the train station! .
There’s isn’t anything not to like!

Verified reviewWe really enjoyed the stay here - the place is well designed, well conditioned, very clean and cozy. The hosts are more than you can expect: Ivy provided us with all instructions at the check-in and helped us out with additional requests like iron + ironing board and the tips for dinner and sightseeing. I personally liked the little fridge in our room and a wonderful common area with coffee, water and fresh fruit.
The place is on a hill so if you don’t plan to rent a car, getting there might be a little steep. OK thank you
