Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomNo negatives other than there is a lot of steps to negotiate which obviously isn't the fault of the owner and the price you pay for such a central location.
Great central location which was ideal for us as it was just a one night stay due to joining a cruise ship the next day. We had arranged to use their taxi service from the airport which worked really well and the receptionist met us outside Pile Gate to help us with our bags which was great as there are a lot of steps and not sure we'd have managed on our own! We were given lots of local recommendations and shown to our room which was clean and well presented with a good sized bathroom and some thoughtful extra touches. We were also able to leave our bags at reception the following day after check out so we could spend some time exploring the city. Would definitely recommend.

United StatesAmazing location and great staff! Very comfortable, pictures are accurate and I highly recommend to anybody interested in staying in the old city. My wife and I stayed for four days and three nights and they provided great suggestions of things to do in restaurants to eat at.

AustraliaThe stairs could be difficult for some people, but if you want to stay in the old city stairs are expected.
The service at this boutique hotel is outstanding. They welcomed us warmly, helped us with our luggage to the rooms and gave us their contact details to call in case we needed anything at anytime of the time.

United StatesThe only thing I could mention is that you do have to climb some stairs - maybe 20 or so? But, this young man working at Soul Kitchen (which is at the bottom of the steps) quickly jumped in to carry our luggage for us. What a treat! He wouldn't accept a tip and asked that we come back for a bite, which we did. Their food was delicious with lots of healthy options. Added bonus--if you mention that you are staying at Dominus you get a 10% discount.
The owner, Marela, reached out to me via WhatsApp a couple of days before we were to arrive to make sure we had the address and to see if we had any questions. We needed to drop off our luggage early before check-in. That was no problem! And, bonus, our room was ready 2 hours before set check-in time, and Romano, who works in the office, contacted me to let me know we could come back as soon as we were ready to check in. They arranged a transport for us so it was easy when we needed to go to the airport. Service was definitely A-plus! The room was also fantastic! Spacious, extremely comfortable with a large bathroom and full amenities. We stayed in the Dominus rooms instead of the Dominus Palace rooms. The difference is the Dominus is a bit more spacious and down a walkway so away from the noise of people coming and going. Our room was absolutely silent! Perfect resting place on our last day of a two-week journey. Importantly, LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. This is perfectly situated in the heart of Old Town which is where you want to stay!

United StatesIt was perfect! The only drawback would be if someone cannot do stairs. But that’s old city Dubrovnik. But the staff carried our bags up and back! They were awesome!
Location is perfect. Inside the old city walls but very quiet section. Beautiful room! Staff was awesome.

CanadaLugging our luggage through the main stradun & up a lot of stairs to get there. We definitely overpacked so that was our fault.
Comfortable, close to everything, so charming.

United StatesEverything. This felt somewhat like a boutique hotel (they had a lobby, regular cleaning staff, and were supportive with questions) but also felt like a private apartment tucked away in a corner of town. The location was amazing - quiet, with a beautiful view over the city, but also close to the main streets. And everyone was so helpful with our questions! It was perfect.

United StatesIt's a lot of stairs and climbing to get to the hotel. So if you have difficulty walking or going upstairs, it was tough.
Staff was incredibly helpful. Helped us with dinner reservations and setting up some excursions.

United KingdomThere is nothing to say - it was perfect!
The property was hidden away - out of sight of the main streets of the Old Town which was perfect for peace and quiet and relaxation. The room was beautiful with everything of a high standard. The staff were attentive and helpful and were charming.

Beautiful quiet place looks exactly like photos. Romano was working reception and was extremely helpful. Our luggage did not make the connecting flight. He took over communications with the airline to get our luggage delivered so we could enjoy the city. He continued even after his shift was over.

United KingdomThere are a lot of stairs but Dubrovnik without stairs is not Dubrovnik.
This is not a room, it’s an experience. Everything is beautifully designed in details. Loved it. Everything is very close. It’s on an historical pavement. Regarding the staff, I have never felt more welcome in an hotel. Their welcoming starts as soon as you book.

United StatesSlightly expensive compared to other places in the Balkans but that's Dubrovnik as a whole, not this property. Nothing else I could say that we didn't enjoy. It can be a bit difficult to walk with your bags from the city gate to the room.
The room was absolutely beautiful and really fit the architecture of Dubrovnik well. Extremely helpful staff who carried our bags up the multiple flights of steps to get to the room. Coffee was available in the room. Easy entrance and exit. Staying inside the city allows you to experience the nightlife as well.
