There was no air conditioning in the lobby, bar, or restaurant. With the high temperatures during my visit, it was extremely uncomfortable to relax or dine in these areas. The swimming pool was surprisingly small — it was no more than about 3x2 meters. The room was poorly insulated and located next to a busy main road, which meant constant traffic noise throughout the day and night. Additionally, the room’s decor featured exposed stones and cement surfaces, which are not suitable for people with severe allergies or respiratory conditions. As a hyperallergic person, I found the environment potentially triggering for asthma attacks, making the stay uncomfortable and concerning. Lastly, I was shocked to learn that losing a key card results in a charge of 40 euros per key. This seems excessive compared to other hotels that simply provide a free replacement immediately. A major concern is that the reception is not staffed during evening and nighttime hours, meaning you risk being locked out of your room with no immediate assistance. There was only one bartender on duty, and when I asked for help to call a taxi, they were unable to assist because the phone was missing. This lack of support was frustrating and inconvenient.

I loved the central location in the old town and the short walk to the waters edge. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and a couple of minor issues we had were promptly sorted.The suite we had was lovely, spacious and really clean. The pool area although small was a little Oasis of calm and a great facility to have. Breakfast was good, partially served, a calm environment and a great start to the day.

The main road at the rear of the property was very noisy but the triple glazed windows sorted that and our room faced the front with the bathrooms at the rear. If I was being really picky some new furniture on the balcony and a small parasol for a little shade in the afternoon would be really great.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Everything was perfect; rooms, garden and swimming pool as well as the breakfast. Beautiful surroundings and excellent service. 10 out of 10 in every category ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a very friendly welcome from the whole family that owns the hotel. They designed it and have obviously given their whole heart into every aspect of it. Our waiters are really worth mentioning. Yan-Yan and Eddiemare are gems 💎 always friendly and willing to do everything for us. We have never experienced such a great personal service and atmosphere. We will be back to beautiful Makarska and of course Casa Columba will be our first choice ❤️

The location was perfect close to everything cute little streets. The fish festival was on when we were there, so that was great. Staff were amazing, and the room was beautiful and comfortable Mr Nino , Ms Gea and yan yan a special thanks for our amazing stay

We loved this jewel if a hotel in the heart of the Old Town. Beautiful cool rooms that have been tastefully modernised. We had a balcony overlooking the pool in the courtyard. But the staff really made our stay, they couldn't be more helpful. Yan Yan and Eddie in particular worked so hard to make our stay perfect. We will definitely come back next time we're in Croatia.

A real gem to find; truly a beautiful small hotel located in the old part of the town. The owner family and the staff are exceptionally good hosts. Nice, clean and comfortable room. If you are looking for a calm and peaceful vacation in Makarska, I would highly recommend Casa Columba.

The room air con does not work properly at night time, it was extremely hot at night to be able sleep.

Casa Columba is a beautiful boutique hotel located right off of one of the most charming streets in Makarska. It’s an easy 5 minute walk from the main bus station, making it an easy spot to travel in and out of Makarska. While it’s tucked away in a quiet corner, it’s only a short walk to great restaurants, stores and beaches. The adults-only hotel is beautifully renovated, and very charming. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, masterfully decorated, exceptionally clean and incredibly comfortable. The host, Dino, clearly took a lot of pride in crafting an oasis with this entire space. He, Yan Yan, and Eddie were welcoming and kind, and as a solo traveler I felt both safe and incredibly comfortable. I have to call out Yan Yan in particular for being especially thoughtful, professional and warm. He really helped set a positive tone at the start of every day with exceptional service at breakfast and throughly the day with thoughtful suggestions and recommendations. I can’t say enough about how wonderful he was - his energy was a cherry on top of an already lovely stay. I look forward to recommending Casa Columba to friends and family, and returning again one day!

The service from every member of the team was excellent. The hotel was extremely well decorated throughout and to a very high standard. The location and hotel facilities are like on other within the area.

Great location in the resort, fantastic staff. Big 10/10 for Yan-Yan who couldn’t do enough for us from the minute we walked in the door, as were Dino and Gayle. Room was immaculate, super comfy beds, amazing walk-in shower. If we return to Makarska we will be staying again.

Only one thing. A sunbed by the pool would have been great. That’s the only tiny thing. The local restaurants are spectacular. Breakfast is simple and delicious.

The property was centrally located and close to several restaurants and the boulevard. The rooms were beautifully reno’d and clean, bathroom was generous in size and had everything we needed! The staff were an absolutely delight, making our stay the most welcoming and memorable! Shout out to Riel who made some excellent coffee during the morning buffet :) We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Makarska!

Every at Casa Columbo was perfect. The hotel is in a great part of town. It was superbly decorated and very clean. The owners and staff couldn’t do enough for us. I wished we stayed longer.

Nino and his father were amazing hosts, warm welcome to the hotel with easy instructions on parking. The hotel is designed by his father and you can tell that it is a passion project. Rooms were lovely. Breakfast was great; special mention to Riyal who has wonderful. Nino provided great recommendations on restaurants around the town. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay or host!

I highly recommend this place! Our stay was absolutely fantastic – the location is great, close to everything you need, and the overall atmosphere was wonderful. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and they truly take care of every little detail to make your stay perfect. It’s a great place for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would definitely come back!

This accommodation was fantastic in every way possible! Clean modern spacious comfortable well appointed. excellent breakfast. garden and pool area are lovely! only 100 meter walk to the water & promenade with lots of restaurants. elevator is amazing to help you with heavy suitcases! The Host Dino is wonderful. I can't say anything bad about this place, it's awesome!! I would come stay again.

A well designed renovated building in the heart of the town. The cherry on the cake was our host Dino. Being in the travel industry for more than 18 years, I've learnt that the human factor is one of the most important aspect to inhance an experience. Dino not only did it, but exceed it.

The host and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are tidy. The location is very central. The breakfast is delicious and varied. We had a great time here and would highly recommend the hotel.

The staff here made us feel so welcome and so taken care of. They went out of their way to give us the best experience possible and treated us like we were part of the family! The room was also very comfortable and clean.

If you are driving, it can be a little tricky to drop your bags before parking in the garage, but they will make sure it goes as smoothly as possible!
