Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOur room was a little small once we unpacked but absolutely fine for a few nights.
We lived the location of the property. Close to the ferry port and short bus ride into the old town. We loved the homely atmosphere at the property. The pool was a lovely addition after a morning exploring. Toni the owner was very helpful and we loved the cocktails around the pool which were made by his son.

United KingdomThe room could do with an iron but other than that it was perfect.
An absolutely brilliant stay at Bokun Guesthouse. The location couldn’t be better. Right on the water which is ideal for boat trips etc and only a 30 minute walk to and from the old town (although the bus is also incredibly easy). Toni was very accommodating and had some great advice. Breakfast was great and the cocktails we had by the pool were genuinely the best we had anywhere in Dubrovnik. Would recommend this place to anyone who was going to Dubrovnik. 10/10

United KingdomMosquitos feasted, so definitely take repellent! Our room was a little bit too small for us and we did get bruises banging into the metal bed frame (very comfy bed though) but we were out alot so we managed. We knew the size of our room beforehand but with all our stuff in it, it was just a bit tight. Buses...manners go out the window! You stand in the sun at the bus stop melting in the heat and then suddenly like cockroaches people run from the shadows to the bus in swarms. It was not nice. Anyone with a disability or elderly stood no chance unless someone took charge to assist...which didn't always happen. Bus journeys definitely gave me anxiety.
A beautiful oasis, in busy Dubrovnik and just a 35 min walk into the old town or 7 mins on the bus.The owners were so helpful and knowledgeable and nothing was ever any bother. Maggie who helped keep guests happy was a ray of sunshine. Breakfast was lovely . Hot chocolate croissants/ croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, home made orange marmalade, eggs done in many ways, bacon, sausages + +. The eating area was a shared space outside under vines and what looked like Kiwis 🥝, where food brought in could be shared if you wished and friends made. The pool was spotless and sun loungers so comfortable. Just gorgeous. Lots to see and do. We purchased a Dubrovnik Pass for 7 days which was well worth the 60€. The pass didn't work on the bus at all so just go to a bus ticket kiosk and they will issue a ticket for the bus after youve shown them you've bought the Dubrovnik Pass. Tourist information will also supply this. The sea is just fabulous. So clean. A trip to Cavtat ( No 10 bus took 40 mins) is so worth the trip. We travelled back by water taxi but I do suggest you book your return ticket as you arrive, as it gets busy going home.

Our stay at this place was absolutely exceptional! The property is beautiful – a well-kept garden full of wonderful flowers makes you feel like you’re in a fairytale. The pool is a real gem – clean and perfect for relaxing on hot days. The breakfasts were delicious, fresh, and very diverse – every morning started with a smile. But the biggest impression was made by the hosts’ hospitality – incredibly kind, helpful, and warm-hearted. Thanks to them, we felt like we were visiting good friends. We highly recommend this place to anyone looking for peace, comfort, and genuine hospitality!

Germany- nothing to complain about
Thank you very much – I’m so glad we were able to stay with you. The hotel has a fantastic location – just 10 minutes by bus to the old town, and the harbor is very close. I’ve never seen such a beautiful garden – it’s truly an oasis. Breakfast in the garden is the highlight of this hotel – everything was delicious, with fresh and high-quality food. The beds are very comfortable. We would love to come back!

ChileMy only complaint is that that the wash basin in the bathroom was a bit small which made it difficult if you shave with soap and a razor
Excellent breakfast and especially a very warm welcome from Toni and later his wife Rosa who couldn't do more for us. The whole ambiente with the garden , trees and home grown fruits and vegetables was brilliant

United StatesOur hosts were warm and welcoming and tended with detail to all our needs! They shared helpful city information and recommended great restaurants in Dubrovnik! The historic property has been beautifully updated to accommodate guests! Rooms are cozy, clean, and bed was very comfortable! The gardens on the grounds are lovely and added a feeling of home to our stay. The location, though on a main street, is a quiet spot tucked away from the noise of the city. Just look for the Bokun Guesthouse sign posted along the street to approach the property. The location is moderate walking distance to Old Town (1.5miles) and within easy bus access as well.

United KingdomWe could have done with extra hooks for towels to hang up & more storage for clothes , also a mirror in our room would have made it better . Breakfast was a buffet, 8am- 10am but most mornings the bacon ran out by 8.30 & was told no more would be cooked . I think breakfast let the place down a bit .
Bokun is a beautiful place to stay at , all staff were wonderful & helpful & our room was spotlessly clean . It’s easy reach to Dubrovnik old town by taxi or foot . The pool was an extra bonus & had a relaxing last day there before our taxi picked us up .

United KingdomSad to say the breakfast was poor there was a very small amount of hot food and within 30 mins of breakfast starting it was gone. When we asked for more we were told there wasn’t any more bacon etc. It would be better to not to have any hot food but offer a higher quality of continental breakfast. We had a king size bed but with double top sheets and blankets
Bokun guest house was very clean thanks to Magdalena. Tony the owner gave us lots of useful information. The garden is beautiful with lots of fruit trees and beautiful flowers. The swimming pool was a bonus to chill around as our flight home was not until late at night.

United KingdomLovely location by the port, so 30 mins walk to old town or beaches, or 10 mins on one of the many buses. It’s an area of tranquility once you open the door from the street, large garden surrounds the property filled with colourful flowers and fruit trees. Substantial buffet breakfast inc hot options. Tony and his team are very friendly and helpful. We booked independently and stayed for three nights, but it is also an accredited jet2 accommodation choice, whose guests typically stay for 7 days+ and are generally more mature. One of the advantages of the latter is that Tony also organises some trips for guests. Couldn’t fault our stay and happy to recommend.
