Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThere are some stairs to navigate which can be challenging for older folks, however the staff was very helpful with the luggage.
Very modern and comfortable rooms. Friendly staff providing great service. Delicious breakfast in a beautiful setting. Very convenient location.

United KingdomAs you would expect in the old town, there are stairs up to the bedrooms. Not a problem for us but just in case you have mobility issues. However the team carried all of luggage up the stairs.
Excellent facilities in the room and very clean. Friendly service- everyone said hello and was engaging and good communication before our arrival. Delicious breakfast with fresh fruit and plenty of choices. Would highly recommend a stay here if you are in Split.

IrelandNo big issues for us - but if you have limited mobility there are a lot of stairs involved here! The Residences are part of a busy restaurant in the middle of town, so if you are looking for sea views in peaceful surroundings this might not be for you. We loved it.
The location of Aspalathos Residence is perfect for a city break - right in the heart of things and many attractions within walking distance. The staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and we had a nice meal in the restaurant too, with a generous discount.

IcelandMaybe a place to hang clothes like in the bathroom or wall near entrance (or the closet with the safe could have a rod and put hangers)
Location and staff were wonderful. We would stay again :)

United Kingdomi couldn’t fault it
Clean & comfortable, great balance of old world charm with modern amenities. Made to feel at home from the airport pick up and throughout our stay. breakfast has many choices & after a particularly tiring day exploring the local area the restaurant offered a good dinner without having to go out.

United KingdomThe bed was a bit hard but this is obviously subjective (a hard bed for one person could be a soft bed for someone else)
The location is excellent. It’s in the old town and near many restaurants, bars and shops. The staff were very attentive, constantly checking in on us, asking if we needed anything and if we were happy.

United KingdomThe shower in our room wasn't brilliant due to limescale on the showerhead but it really wasn't a big deal and didn't negatively impact our stay at all.
Fantastic location - walkable to all the key attractions and in a really vibrant neighbourhood with great bars and restaurants nearby. The staff were excellent and communicated with us well regarding our arrival time They even got our rooms ready early (which was such a blessing on a hot and tiring day!). The rooms were spacious and decorated in relaxing, neutral colours and we had access to a small terrace which was a great place to bring back some of the excellent local snacks on offer nearby. Breakfast was also great and they allowed us to store our luggage at the hotel once we checked out to allow us more freedom to explore Split. All in all a great stay and a place I would definitely recommend.

Breakfast is absolutely delicious, always fresh bread, fruit and pancakes. Location is perfect, just 5 minutes away from the old town and the riva. We couldn’t ask for a better place with easy access to almost everything.

United StatesStairs, but I understand why no elevator in an historic property. While staff was helpful when consulted, it's really rooms above a busy restaurant which occupies the time of the staff more than the hotel guests. Oddly for a very up to date room, there was no place to hang or store clothes: no hooks, no hangers in a closet, no drawers or adequate shelves. The large bathroom had exactly one rather short towel rack in the shower. No place for towels near the sink or on the long walls.
Spacious updated room, nice decor, quiet, pleasant view. Restaurant below was handy both for breakfast and other meals. I think we could order what we wanted from the menu for breakfast, included. Although outside of Diocletian's Palace we could walk to it in a few minutes and surrounding the hotel are many shops and restaurants.

United StatesLoved that they were standing outside waiting for our arrival and quickly grabbed our suitcases to take upstairs. Quiet room, good breakfast, helpful staff. Loved the outside upstairs patio that was for hotel guests only. We ordered food and drinks from the pizza restaurant below and they brought it all up to the patio for us to enjoy!

AustraliaWe have no complaints as I would highly recommend this charming residence. Note for information: there are 3 levels and steps, no lift. If you want fresh orange juice in the morning the cost is extra. Bathroom amenities did not include hair conditioner.
The accommodation has been tastefully renovated, retaining some heritage features with modern decor. The staff provided authentic Croatian hospitality and were flexible with our requests. This was my second trip to Split. It can be very noisy if you stay close to the main square. Aspalathos is well located on the edge of the old town, so noise was miminal and we slept well. Breakfast was tasty and the home made dough buns were delicious.
