Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDo be aware that booking.com details are a tad misleading . One of the flats has a kitchen and the smaller unit does not .. but it does have a fridge
It’s a lovely location just inside the city wall. And Marian is just such a warm and generously spirited person. When packing to leave I forgot a rather special dress and Marian phoned me to let me know and then stood out on the road in the full heat of the day so that she could hand it over to me as our taxi moved past ! I was so grateful to her

AustraliaIt is a little small and there is not much space to relax in the room but if you are only staying a short while you expect to be out and about all day anyway.
This accommodation is in an excellent location just inside the Buza Gate. It is a good spot if you are only starting a short time in Dubrovnik as you are in walking distance to all of the sights in the Old City. Marina is a lovely host and greeted us when our flight was delayed at 9:40pm at night. She was so lovely and kind and showed us a map of Dubrovnik and pointed out all the sights and locations worth noting. Her responsiveness was excellent and she is very professional.

United StatesCheck in a little tricky because location on map apps may be wrong; if you enter Dubrovnik via Buza Gate, it’s basically first door on the left across from water fountain.
Location fantastic for the Old Town and for the airport shuttle bus. Air conditioning worked very well, as did WiFi, refrigerator and hot water kettle. Bed was comfortable and shower had hot water. Marina was a great host and knowledgeable about the city, if you meet her!

We loved our stay at Marinas apartment. It was perfect for a long weekend in Dubrovnik. Excellent location, positioned at Buza Gate means you can avoid walking up/down lots of steps… perfect for arriving with luggage, and my mum who recently had a knee replacement! Lovely and clean, bed was super comfortable and a great size. So amazing to have the terrace, great for a late afternoon beer. Fun to spot the terrace on the wall walk. Highly recommend. Marina was a super welcoming host, great communication via WhatsApp.

Location is superb, very nice and friendly owner. just a few meters behind the Buza gate, the perfect base to discover the old town of Dubrovnik. If you stay here, you are one of the very few with a balcony in this city...Enjoy!

United StatesThere was no TV, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.
I booked this suite very, very last minute. But it perfectly suited my needs. It is in the Old Town and comfortable. This suite offers a small terrace overlooking the Buža Gate and is right next door to one of the best sushi restaurants in Dubrovnik. If that is not enough reason to book it, then know that the owner, Marina, is very welcoming and helpful. Stay here, explore the Old Town, walk to the port to begin your boat tour, and eat well.

CanadaThis place was very well located and we loved it. We were staying within the city walls, right by Buza Gate, it was great and nice to experience it during the day and night time. We did the city walls one morning and were super hot after that and was very convenient to go back to our place to refresh for a bit, change and go to the beach after. The host, Marina, was also fantastic and very helpful, she gave some tips and facts about the city, and the place we were staying at.

United StatesJust a little dusty so unable to use the air conditioning but we were gone mostly during the day anyway. Street address is not where you enter property and I arrived during a rain storm. It took me a long time to find the correct door. In the meantime, my entire luggage was soaked, including having to purchase a new phone from water damage and I slipped and fell on the very smooth stone street trying to find the correct "green door." (Not the hosts fault but having more clear description to find door more quickly would be very helpful).
Perfectly located at the top of the stairs on north end of Old Town. Make sure to enter old Town thru Pile Gate for this property to avoid climbing many stairs with luggage. 2nd floor, No elevator but it was wonderful! Really liked the location a lot. There was a bit of coffee provided and host even brought us extra set of sheets (traveling with friend). Thank you! (HVALA!)

AustraliaIt is an older style apartment which is to be expected given it is inside the old town! This meant that it was somewhat "worn" in places, and I would say it was pretty clean but not perfect. Also due to it's location, it was very loud. There was bass music from a nearby restaurant to be heard at all times. The shower was okay pressure wise, but the hot water only lasted a minute or so unfortunately.
Firstly, Marina the host was absolutely lovely. She took the time to show me around the apartment, and then we sat down and she gave me recommendations for restaurants, swimming spots and the like. She checked in throughout my stay, and overall was just great. The apartment was spacious which was an awesome change from some other apartments I had stayed in recently. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. The aircon was welcome, as was the fan. The location is perfect, as it is in the Old Town, but literally just in it, so you're very close to the Buza gate, meaning you don't have to lug your suitcase up and down heaps of stairs. The apartment is also very secure, as there is a locked door to get into the small building, then another door into the apartment.

ArmeniaThe apartment is very small and there is no kitchenware. May be that was our mistake, there are two apartments listed in booking.com and at the moment we were looking only one was available and we thought all the pictures are regarding that one (there were separate kitchen and bigger room). Though host tried to help as and brought some plates and spoons but anyways as our expectations were different we didn't really like this apartment. The downside of the good location is that the windows are looking on the street and at the night it can be very noisy.
The best thing about this apartment is its location - it is in the city center, just near the wall. The main city beach is also close enough, like 10m walk. There is AC, which is very important as the August was super hot there and it was impossible to sleep without AC on. The host was very nice and try to help us with everything.

Australia* Sort of old and tired and little effort to make it attractive (no basics in apt such as bug spray, salt, water etc); * Wifi sort of ok only, had to wait for shower to heat up for second person, no TV * To be fair, no opportunity to compare to any other old town accommodation * Cleaning not great
*Location awesome *Apartment had some old charm (we have stayed in many old towns) *Had outdoor seating. Best thing
