How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Did not have hot water. Did not turn on when I tried. Host did not respond when I tried to contact.
It was cheap and not that far from the town. It was spacious enough and could fit enough people without hassle.

It could have been cleaner and the kitchen is quite outdated
The owners were really lovely. The male owner went out of his way to help us, despite not speaking much English. He was very friendly and a kind person. His wife was really kind too. The location was really really good

Very hot in bedroom as no fan or aircon. Tiny bedding sheet, hard bed and awkward pillows
10 minute walk to beach and very close to multiple food shops. Let us check in early but hard to communicate with staff online & language barrier

Seemed like all the pipework for the whole house ran past my rooms walls so was quite noisy when someone ran a tap.
Room was below road level so quite cool as it was 35c outside. Spacious enough. Old man running the place was funny.

A/C didn’t work in one room and the light and fan stopped working in the bathroom in the other room

Wifi didn’t work, wasn’t given toilet roll, bugs on the bed and hand soap as body wash in the shower. Air conditioning barely worked and we were asked to turn it off in 32 degree heat. Hosts also walked into our room unexpectedly and to turn off the aircon, when girls were changing. Hosts were friendly but very unprofessional.
Great location, friendly hosts but very unprepared.

We went in a group of 7 and were split into 3 rooms (2 double bed rooms and a room with 3 single beds and a kitchenette) they were all on the ground floor however they were not adjoining and there was another apartment that was rented out in between us, we didn’t really mind but it may be an issue for families
Very pretty, rustic, colourful garden and views. Only 10/15 minute (downhill) walk to the shop, beach and port. The couple who own the building are lovely and potter around the property, they don’t have much English but are so nice they gave us some of their homegrown tomatoes!

Poor facilities. No cutting knives. Only one bin bag. Two forks in a 4-person apartment. Only one toilet roll. Good as a base to stay but not great for cooking in or much else. Friendly hosts and comfy beds, and a nice balcony.
Decent price. Decent location. Did the job.

The room was disgusting. The floor was filthy with dirt & hair, the bed had bugs crawling on top of the sheets, the toilet had no flusher, the sink was dirty with hair on the sides, it was just overall really filthy.
Nothing, we didn’t stay there. As soon as we walked in and saw the filthiness of the room we left straight away.

very dirty, kitchen light went off on the second day and they didn’t fix it, air conditioning smelled really bad. The staff didn’t speak english at all.

There were broken glass pcs in the shower . One of the rooms do not have ac In both the apartmwe booked light bulb wasn’t working . When we checked in there was poop in the WC . Worst experience ever . All respect to the age of two old couple running it . But they are taking money you need to give us badic minimum . I had to let people know .

We arrived there at 2pm and rang the bell, knocked the door but no one came to welcome us Waited for about an hour! Under the scorching sun emailing them and calling them. Finally we saw the owner came out to check their laundry on balcony, that’s when we managed to get their attention. I couldn’t speak Croatian and they couldn’t speak any English. I tried using google translate telling them we have a booking here; showed them the booking confirmation and the owner still didn’t let us in. She was saying something about 3 nights minimum stay limit or something like that, but in anycase the booking was confirmed days ago! Anyways after long argument they let us stay there but we felt very unwelcome!

The furniture in general it's a bit old, as well as the bathroom. Also, if you are planning to get any work done, there is no WiFi in the room we were in, so take that into account.
Good value for your money, room is spacious and comfortable with it's own bathroom.
