We liked all of it

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. The location is jaw-droppingly beautiful and the house is simply and very tastefully furnished, and full of useful things like good knives, plenty of pans, head torches, playing cards etc. We’ve rarely been to somewhere as well equipped. We came out of season in October and it was extremely quiet, there was plenty of warm sunshine and the sea was easily still warm enough to swim in. The restaurants across the bay were closed but the gas hob in the house did us fine - also there’s a big fridge. Sailing boats came in and out of the bay but did not disturb the sense of peace. It’s a great place to read, write and swim. While the shower has only cold water, a bowl of hot water can be taken to it and one soon gets used to washing outdoors. The headroom in the mezzanine where one sleeps is a little tight and may be an issue for tall people. We left most of our things in the boot of our car and brought just the minimum amount of things down to the house. Bring v little: you won’t need much. Komiza town - a 20 minute drive away - has bags of charm. We made very good friends with Vis’s cats, of which there are many.

Just the fact that we had to leave after our week ended! We would return in a heartbeat.

Sara’s home is an exact reflection of Sara - welcoming, warm, and attaching. We spent 7 days at the house and would have stayed for the rest of the summer if we did not have any obligations! Sara will suggest that you first arrive at the location with your luggage and groceries (AND WATER) via water taxi. Save yourself the trouble and take her suggestion. It will cost you 50€ but with the 15-20 minute walk from the car parking lot at the top of Stoncica beach through an actual goat path to the house, the cost of not being winded and swimming in your own sweat because you were carrying 12L of water in addition to your luggage and groceries is well worth it. Added bonus : the view of the bay when you turn the corner and see the house you’ll be living in for the next few days is amazing. There is no drinking water at the house so the 12L+ of water is in fact real. Sara cannot stress this enough - bring drinking water and do not underestimate how much water we actually consume in one day. For two people over the course of 7 days, we consumed about 20L of water. The house itself is probably the closest thing to feeling like you are living on a sailboat. The ocean is your front porch and the water is very refreshing, especially after walking back from the car park or when the sun is hot in the afternoon. The house is literally in the wilderness, just like the ad says, therefore very normal to see little lizards and other wildlife friends hanging out around the property - nothing dangerous though! Although the Croatian sun is hot, the porch has a shaded area to keep you cool while you finish off a crossword puzzle. There is everything you need in the house; espresso machine + coffee, towels, some basic toiletries if you forgot something, cooking oils and herbs, pots and pans, hair dryer, playing cards, headlamps (you’ll need one if you come home after sundown for the goat path), sun loungers and a bunch of other things that make your stay pleasant.

Wonderful house!! We loved it so much, the house is beautiful and has direct access to the sea. Sara, the host, is so nice and helped us with everything we needed. We will definitely come back ❤️
