How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Everything was great.
The owner answered all my questions immediately. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. It was also very central to everything in the old city, including little supermarket and laundromat 1 minute away. Short walking distance from restaurants, shops, tours etc. Totally great!

The stairs to the appartment are very narrow and very steep, but this is the way a lot of the buildings are designed, and did not impact on our stay.
The communication from start to finish was fantastic. The owner even sent a video of how to find the property, which was really useful. The property is suitable for a couple, and is located right in the centre of the harbour/town, and next to a lovely busy local pub that has live music on. There are plenty of restaurants close to the appartment and excursions if that takes your fancy. There is no view from the windows but this is due to the beautiful architecture of the tall old buildings. Rovinj Is a beautiful place to visit.

Very spacious, cosy and clean apartment in a superb location. It was also very well equipped with everything for a longer stay. The Host, Tanja couldn't have been more helpful and gave excellent directions for getting to and into the place.

Cigarette smell from downstairs bar- but that is everywhere in Slovenia.

The placing! The apartment is in the middle of the most fun place of Rovinj. The host was perfect, we could contact her at anytime about anything. She even gave us information about parking and included a video about how to reach the destination. Definitely would come here again

The apartment had no natural air flow so a fan or air con was required to be on

Hard to get fresh air inside.
Superb location, nice and very clean apartment. Very helpful host, quick response to queries. Rovinj is lovely and the little piazza just below has a great café with friendly and professional staff (Bruno's).

The view from the window but you can't have everything :)
Location was ideal! Kitchen very good equipped nad clean. Separate sleeping room. Area of the flat big enough for 2-3 people. Big TV with Netflix, No problem with noise. Comgortable bed.

The only thing I didn't like did not depend on the place or the management. Works were in progress in the square in front of the Arco dei Balbi, and visitors were compelled to follow side routes to reach the old town. The manager was so efficient to provide detailed instructions also above this small problem!
I liked everything there, starting from the excellent instructions provided. The apartment was fully equipped, well above my expectations. Everything in the apartment was perfectly clean.

The location was ideal, just off the main square, everything u could possibly need. The apartment was spotlessly clean. But overall our hostess Tanja was truly amazing, always at the other end of the WhatsApp chat, and nothing was too much trouble for her. So Tanja, thank u so much

Very nice apartment in the historic center next to restaurants and shops but it’s very quiet. Everything was clean and organized. Air con works very well. The host is super nice and friendly. Really recommend this place.
