How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Guest house Varnica is family business looks nice and clean, great breakfast, dinner was included in the price. Every day different menu and cake after with drink. The host and family were kind and helpful.

A little noisy. It is on a busy street, but I did sleep well.

Everything waa great
The host was extremely kind and patient. He gave us great tips about airport procedures. Despite our late arrival, he waited and patiently explained everything to us.

Room was a bit small but that was ok as had booked a single room
The chap who greeted me was very accommodating carrying my bags upstairs and down for me. Had good communication skills and was helpful.letting me know where I could find fod outlets still open

The sign for the guesthouse was very small and difficult to see in the dark.

Extremely good customer service, the place has that special Human touch that offers more than just the accommodation. A huge home made breakfast with fresh ingredients.

Finding the entrance was a little difficult, especially in the dark.

The occasional mosquitos dam things creep up on you and have a little Nibbles but I'd you use protection sprays it's fine
The host was kind, friendly, and happy talking to his guests. Nothing seems to bother him he's always happy to assist in anything he's a good sense of humour and enjoyment was flowing even first thing in the morning. I can assure you it's value for money breakfast was a surprise. There's a shop and cafe bar straight across road from guest house and only ten minutes to the beach and sea swimming is awesome you are spoilt of choice for bars restaurants cafes there's nothing I didn't like and the local ice creams 2€ For a vanilla chocolate chip beautiful yiu must try.

All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Dinner and breakfast was fantastic. Small grocery store across the road, also close to the airport and beach. Room was very clean and well kept with all the amenities you could need. Air con and tv worked perfectly.

Just a bit too much stairs for the kid and grandmother.
Staff is friendly, nice food, big portions. Good comfy beds, we stayed in the room with best view on the sea and mountains. Kid 2 yrs especially liked trampolín and garden included and nice breakfasts 😊 supermarket and bus stop really close

The owner of the house his very friendly. He makes Breakfast for me. My Room was small but clean and perfect for Sleep. Easy for parking and the sea is few minutes by walk.

I came at a wrong time (better coming from May to Sept, I presume), and it was a bit chill in the room. It took a long time to heat the room up by air condition. But it didn't that matter.
Helpful landlord (I found Croation people super enthusiastic) and nice location. Travelling by coach tortured me badly and I received warm cares from the landlord. A place between Trogir and Split, an old town and beaches nearby. Living here allows you visit the towns of Trogir and Split by short bus trips, and the old town by foot.
