Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

BulgariaThere was no toilet paper in the bathroom. moldy and filthy as hell. it is extremely unpleasant to measure feces. The bed in the bedroom has very uncomfortable springs. It is extremely dark in the living room, only one lamp is on and the blinds are broken and cannot be raised. The owner has also been lying to me since the week of January 1 and has not sent me an invoice

NetherlandsWhere do I start? We booked this location because it was advertised as pets friendly and because I had to be in Sveta Nedelja for work the following day. We tried to confirm over phone, but the number provided was unreachable. Later we found out it was WhatsApp/Viber only (convenient, not). We arrived at the location and were greeted by a scruffy looking guy who then instantly said "whoah does *insert owner's name* know about the dogs? Well, no since we could not reach anyone. The guy then proceeds with calling the owner and he says that we can stay, for 80€ cleaning charge, 40 per dog (mind you the stay itself was 80). I tried to negotiate a single cleaning fee - nope. Fine, at that point we just wanted to get this done with, so I accepted if the owner could provide me with an invoice. Nope, cash only. No other option. As I was talking with the owner on the phone, another woman came out and asked the man in Croatian "what do these *bad word* want??" after which he immediately told her to be quiet because my wife understands Croatian. We then decided to leave immediately, no refund. Booked a night at Zagreb's best hotel Esplanade where our dogs received most cuddles they ever gotten, just for 35€ of cleaning fee... that could go on the invoice.
Will never forget how ridiculous this whole thing was.

BulgariaStay away from this place! If it was only the apartment, I could have given it probably 5 or 6 points, as some tourists can find it acceptable, regardless of what others have already mention like the busy noisy road right next to the house. What is the total deal breaker is the host Kristijan who is an inadequate liar and I stand by my words. Here is the story. We arrived, my family of 4 (two kids, one with a Down syndrome). We were given the keys to the apartment, but we soon found out one by one that some basic stuff for the stay was missing - bed sheets for the sofa, towels, toilet paper. We started callling the host and he started bringing things - small hand towels instead of bath ones, saying those are the regular bath towels etc. At the end with his poor level of English he didn't understand what we needed, started using a phone translator to no avail. Getting nervous, he suggested so if we did't like the place we could go, cancel the reservation on our side and said he would return the money except 15 euros he would deduct for cleaning after our 30 minute stay in the apartment. We agreed, left and found another apartment to stay in Zagreb, which could be traced in our booking history. In the week that followed he neither returned any money nor answered mine or booking.com messages to him through the website system. Finally, booking.com sugggested so I contact him directly on his mobile phone - on my messages he answered "what" and "who are you". Also, by looking at his replies to poor reviews on the apartment, I noticed that he put the blame on the tourists - this is exactly what I'm expecting after my review now - he writes about people being noisy, breaking his blinds - to anybody leaving a bad review. Do yourself a favour - save some time and money and avoid the apartment.
