How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Great location, handy to everything. Nice and clean. Comfortable bed, good quiet night's sleep. Easy self check-in, proactive instructions on how to fine location as it is tucked away.

The shared bathroom was not in good shape due to other guests leaving it wet and messy. And, the noise from neighboring guests talking, laughing, and slamming doors was quite disruptive.
Amazing location, nice host, clean room, the AC is a huge plus

My door didn't lock from the outside and I had issues opening it from inside too. The garden door was locked but still... the location could be better explained. Had a bit of a challenge finding it, but a neighbour guided me.
I liked the location and it felt really private, ticked away on the third floor in what felt like a hidden location. There was a fridge I could use and my neighbours were not loud ( which was great because you can hear eveeything they say). The cleaner of the room was so kind and sweet :)

Not even a complaint, but the top floor bathroom was a bit cramped with the slant of the roof.
Location was phenomenal! Mateo and Karalina were super!

Bath was a little wonky. Banged my head more than once and the air conditioner made regular noises that sometimes woke me up .
Location was superb. Good quiet place to stay for solo traveler. The AC was welcome relief from the heat. One review complained about the steps but I counted them and there's only 15 and there's rails. Happy with stay.

I went here for both work and leisure. Wifi was not too stable as I was cutting in and out of my calls - ended up using my own data.
Great location with nearby shops, beautiful, clean and comfortable room with own fridge, AC and bathroom.

Be aware that the apartment and bathroom is extremely small though (not a complaint, just an observation since we didn't realize just how small it would be when booking).
The host was so accommodating and helpful. The place was very clean, and central to everything you could need.

the location is simply fantastic, in 2 minutes to the center. The staff was very friendly, thanks Karolina for taking care of our comfort all days of rest. The room was very clean, and a small gift was waiting for us upon check-in - delicious cookies

The location is perfect! Super close to the city center, restaurants and shops. The beds were comfy, and the bathroom was getting cleaned almost every day. The owner is very nice and was happy to answer all of our questions about moving around Split and the nearby islands.

Everything was perfect, I’d stay next time when I visit split
Beautiful apartment within walking distance to everything you’d want to see or do when visiting split. Mateo and his partner were so welcoming and helpful from the moment we got to split. The ac was a life saver.

All was Very good!
The location is Super! City center, harbor, and all important places are in (max) 5 min walking distance. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Mateo and Karolina are the best Host: both are very friendly, competent and provide excellent support to their guests every time.

The mattress was uncomfortable as you could feel the springs. It was cold at night, I asked for another blanket but it never arrived and there was no one around to ask. There was no toilet roll, the bin was overflowing and dirty towels were just left outside the room by other guests which no one tidied up.
The location was excellent, less than 5 minutes walk to the main square and waterfront. The lady who met me on arrival was nice.
