Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe food was not very good, we ate several meals from the restaurant none of them were very good i don’t think either of us finished a meal.
The location was great, the staff was top shelf, the drinks were great & the rooms and the grounds were very clean. My only recommendation would be to the owners, get new cooks that are versed in local island cuisine or teach those you have. It’s definitely worth the time & effort.

I would definately stay here again. Michelle and Acner make this place, don't get me wrong.... Jennifer, Laura, Mila and team are outstanding too! The room was big with a nice comfy large bed. Fridge and coffee maker with plenty of fresh drinking water. Amazing, chilled location, good food and lovely staff. You take a boat ride to get to this place so you are 10 mins away from the town. All the facilities at this beautiful place close around 18:00. Chilled relaxed vibe at night.

United StatesAfter 3 days of rain the tiny house was very humid and the beach can be crowded during the day.
Very relaxing in the morning/end of day. The huts are big enough, clean and well equipped. Diving schools pick you up at the dock in front. The transport to and from the hotel is well organized. I would definitely stay there again!

United KingdomHowever, the staff leave at 5:15pm and the bar and restaurant close at this time pretty much every night, and then don’t arrive until past 8am the following morning. We can’t really understand this, even if just a couple staff remained, it would be great to have some atmosphere and be able to get some drinks and maybe food later on. I think the most negative part of this is that as a result, unless you pay the $25 boat fee to go into town later on, you then tend to get an early night, so you will likely wake up early… but you have no one there to serve you a coffee until 8:30am. This is too late, and way later than any hotel I have ever stayed at. People also arrive during the day not long after the staff have arrived, so your peace is gone then anyway. We would advise to just stay somewhere in the centre and then do this. There was also a lot of mould in our room and a damp smell. It certainly didn’t feel like a £100/$115 a night stay in all honesty. There was also trash on the beach, which I’m sure if the owner just paid someone for one hour extra a morning, they could make a good dent into. Hate leaving negative reviews, but I have stayed in spots like this around the world that were better maintained and a third of the price.
We had real mixed feelings about Coral Beach. It is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of life and undoubtedly a beautiful spot. We had the beach and pier to ourselves at night (stars were incredible), and first thing in the morning. The water is beautiful, and the snorkelling just off the beach is amazing, with beautiful coral.

United StatesThe only thing would probably be the water being hot in the day, but it's probably due to the tanks getting heated up by the sun. Otherwise a great vacation, was definitely able to relax.
The location was beautiful, right on the beach! The service was great, everyone was incredibly attentive in regards to food and drink service. Our lock actually ended up not working but the attendants were very kind and stayed with us until we were able to fix it. The boat service to the area was great and always timely. I would definitely come again.

CanadaNot much to not like! Perhaps an information package upon booking that outlines transport from ferry to site and other site amenities (transport boat hours, recommended tour operators, e.g.).
So many amazing elements to applaud, but I'll start with the location - access in only by boat and you're on a relatively remote coast with a live and world-class coral reef at your doorstep. Despite the remoteness, accommodations are surprisingly modern, comfortable, and beautiful. On-site grocery store (open 8-5) serves guests, visitors, and local residents (mainly ex-pats with homes down the road); on-site restaurant and bar (9-5) is with tasty, varied menu at resonable prices (you might think they'd price gouge the logistically-captive audience). Lastly, staff were friendly and accommodating - answering all my questions and going above and beyond.

United KingdomYou should be aware of the limitations re access - you can’t just quickly head into the main part of the island whenever you want because you need to align with the boat schedule. But as I said, the staff are accommodating if necessary.
The location is absolutely stunning - because it’s so remote and you need a boat to get there (which stop running in the late afternoon), we had the beach and sea to ourselves in the morning and evenings. Absolutely idyllic! The room was nice, the restaurant is good and the staff was extremely accommodating, in view of the access limitations, helping us out she needed.

This hidden a way spot by far exceeded my expectations. It was a magical little heaven away from all the busyness of life. GermanyWhen we arrived we didn't know about the hourly boats from town to the hotel so we had to wait an hour and a half on the pier when we could've spent it elsewhere. But as soon as we got there we were blown away by how good a choice in hotel we had made.
Because it was the off season we were almost alone at the hotel, and the staff took very good care of us. The attached restaurant has delicious food, and since there was a fridge and coffee maker in our room we could make our own breakfasts. There is also a small store attached to the property so you can buy essentials. The room is spacious and has an excellent AC, which was much appreciated because it got very warm. And the bathroom is awesome because it has an open-air shower (with a mosquito net) so you get to look up at the trees.

This hotel has the rooms straight in the paradise, 20m from one of the most amazing beach in Utila, the staff is really friendly and helpfull, the food at the restaurant is great and there are corals and all the kind of fishes straight in the sea in front, perfect to snorkel at the sunset and sunrise(considering that the tourists are there till 5.30pm it’s basically a private beach at the sunset. United StatesThere was nothing to do other than snorkel and dive. The room was small, no tv and no reading chair so you could sit and read. Also the ferry schedule prevents you from leaving the island after 5:30 pm. Also the mosquitoes were the worst I have ever seen. Don’t go in August or September because of the mosquitoes.

ItalyNo hot shower (for the price you pay it’s not acceptable). I was there 3 nights and never have the chance to have one :( No hairdryer in the room ( even if I asked before checking in) No reception, so if you need something after or before the bar closes/ opens, there is nobody to help. (The opening hours are 9.30-17.30, which is very late and very early in my opinion for a touristic place) No private beach for the guests of the resort. During the day everybody can take the boat and come to Neptune’s (this is the name of the restaurant by the beach), so the beach is very crowded. You can enjoy the beach by yourself in the morning, till 9.30. No daily cleaning of the bungalows, in 3 days nobody went to clean my room. The restaurant is expensive and not the best. You pay the position and the fact you are on an island. In my opinion this place is really overpriced for the service they give you, which is a pity.
The location is great, by a stunning beach, in a more remote part of the island. This is the only good thing this place have! The bungalows are also nice, quite big and the bed is super comfy. The island is full of sandflies so keep in mind during your early morning walk and at the sunset. The boat service is great, it would be better if longer. (The last one is at 5 pm from the city snd 5.30 from the resort)
