Despite saying there was a lift, it wasn't working when I arrived. I was informed about the lack of functioning lift and offered assistance with my luggage. I provided a time for my arrival and gave notice when I got to the building but no one was there to help. I got an answer about an hour later, after I'd completed the seven flights of stairs alone.

Very convenient location in terms of transport links and proximity to areas of interest.

It doesn't look exactly like the pictures - the walls are a bit dirty and the overall look is worse. We also had to wait for the staff because there was no key as they said, it turned out they changed the room but didn't give us the code for the new room - but they came within 30 minutes and we managed to get into the room

EVERYTHING ELSE. 1) After I had paid for my booking (which was non-refundable btw) I was informed the elevator did not work so I had to walk up the stairs to the 7th floor everyday. Moreover, the staircase looks like it has been taken straight out of a horror film. Blood stains, filth, people smoking cigarettes in-between floors. 2) The Wi-fi was not working and the walls are extremely thin. 4) The room does not look like in the pictures. It is way smaller (I mean, I get Hong Kong's "small" is smaller than Europe's "small", but the pictures are extremely misleading). 5) The bathroom smells bad. 5) There are cockroaches in the room. I informed the staff. They said someone will come and clean the room, change my sheets. No one did :--) 6) I became paranoid about the bugs so (I do not know why I did not do that the moment I moved in) I have checked each nook and cranny. Inspected mattresses (they did not show signs of bed bugs), they were so dirty I almost puked. There were suspicious stains (I am 99% positive there were old blood stains on the bed sheets, pics attached). But the couch was the worst. I have not noticed before, as I have not used it (just put my backpack on the couch) but it had little dark stains on the top, which looked like bed bugs feces. I have contacted disinfestation professionals. They said they do not look like bed bugs infestation signs, but like old roach infestation signs. So apparently it was not bed bugs who left feces on the couch, but roaches. I do not know what is worse (why is such a couch in the room anyway?) I ended up moving out a day earlier, spent the night at the airport. I am terrified I have brought bugs with me - nothing bit me (thank God) and I am probably just paranoid, but I heat-treated my things twice and am just really uneasy. This stay brought nothing but stress. Avoid this place - find something within the same price range and commute - Hong Kong is easy to get around.

Location was the only thing that was okay - although the building itself was sketchy. There was a man working in the massage parlor on the first floor that was weird towards me everyday.

Everything about this place was a bad decision. I sincerely hope that the rating will reflect this in the future. My guess is that they change names as soon as the rating comes close to reality - that's why there are so many low rating places nearby.

No, no, no. There's no way this place has a 7.7 ranking (as of this writing). If that is a 7.7 then I owe an apology to every hotel I ranked 7 or below and make them a ten. Where to start. The lift is not working - but you find out about it after booking! It takes 30 seconds to update a booking.com profile but they chose not to do it. It's 8 floors up! Then the name the place 'Fook Kiu' Mansion. Yes, read that again but slowly. The room is so small - how small, you ask? If the bed was a fullsize instead of twin size, the room would be bed only. That small. There was no toilet paper. Wrote the host a WhatsApp in the morning, replied in the afternoon and 90min later the toilet paper came. That sucks. The staircase to get there makes you wonder if Judge Dredd 2 will be filmed here, I'm pretty sure I saw blood between floor 5 and 6. I'm willing to take a bet if the staircase has been cleaned this decade. Let's not forget about the hookers offering you their services at the entrance. It's a friendly welcome but not what you expect.

I read good comments and saw nice pictures so I was happy I could find something, but once we arrive we can notice It’s an old building and the humidity is too much. The second day they got into our room but only to turn the A/C off, didn’t change the humid smell towels or check if we needed anything (They did it next day because I asked for) From 3 nights we spend there the elevator only worked the day we arrived, it’s a 7th floor! I only appreciate that it didn’t brake with us inside.
