Hong Kong in general was quite expensive, and the costs at the hotel were no different.

The room was spacious and had a stunning view. I arrived far before check-in time and the hotel staff gave me access to the spa so I could use the sauna, pool and showers while I waited for my room to be ready. The staff here are extremely accommodating.

During my recent stay at Island Shangri-La Hong Kong, I faced an unpleasant situation that initially left me disappointed. However, one of your staff members, Joy, completely changed my experience. She handled the issue with outstanding professionalism and empathy. Despite my frustration, she remained calm, understanding, and went above and beyond to resolve the matter efficiently. What truly stood out was how she engaged with my children, keeping them entertained and comfortable while managing the situation – something that made a huge difference to our family. Joy embodies the true meaning of hospitality. Employees like her are the reason guests come back. Please extend my sincere appreciation to her – she turned what could have been a negative experience into a memorable one.

Dim sum at the lobby cafe was horrible. And the people at the counter was sub par, although it may have been because they were responding to a guest complaining about something. There were two people taking care of the complaining guest, which left the front desk unmanned.

Other than my two complaints, everything else either met or exceeded my expectations.

We stayed in a modern room, mountain & city view. It was sparkling clean, beautifully presented and included everything we could have needed. The bed was incredibly comfortable! The staff were very kind, extremely helpful and gave a warm welcome, complete with an easy check-out process, generous with luggage storage and access to the wellness room to refresh before leaving for the airport in the afternoon. The location was great, walking distance to the peak tram, restaurants, shopping, all transport options - was really well connected to travel anywhere. We can’t speak higher of the accommodations & service. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend to others going to Hong Kong.

Our room allocated upon check-in clearly smelt of smoke although it is a non-smoking hotel. Upon complaining we were moved immediately to a slightly superior room.

We found nothing not to like.

Every member of staff we meet were exceptional. The room, we choose an original harbour view not the refurbished room which we were more than pleased with had everything you could possibly need and I’m certain if there was something else you need it would be available. The view (harbour) was stunning. We enjoyed the pool on two days and the staff there came and laid the towels out and bought us iced lemon water. We ran out of time to try the spa and infra red sauna but we’ll try those out next time for sure.

From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and attentive and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The hotel’s location meant that it was easy to get around by public transport or by an inexpensive taxi.

Lifts took an age to arrive.

Recently refurbished rooms were excellent. The only grumble was that a view of the Peak in HK was a little bit of poetic license as we looked straight at the Conrad hotel.

This is obviously a fantastic hotel with luxurious facilities. A comfortable stay is guaranteed, however what stood out to me was how approachable and friendly the staff were. I’d like to thank Charisse in particular at reception for allowing me to check in 5 hours early after a long flight. Will definitely recommend to friends.
