Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe desk concierge could be friendlier & accomodating at 6:30am upon our arrival (long 12hr flight with lack of sleep). The baggage gentleman (thank you, kindly) was the most helpful and walked over to show us how to log in the hotel wifi while we figured out city directions to get around to amuse ourselves, as no early check-in allowed. Please send him our best. Desk concierge just said "you need to show passport again when you check-in" without a hint of hospitality. No laundry room.
Buffet breakfast was great, with good hot & cold selections. Location was perfect for our needs and easy to tavel in/out of area (train, bus, and ferry). Jogging and walkable area by the harbor with great easy access. Room was somewhat small, and had a view of harbor. The top of our picture window (non-opening) leaked in heavy rain but they sent someone promptly to soak up the excess water with towels on window sills. Thank you to the kind gentleman who stored our lugagge while we waited to be checked in at later time. We appreciated the service staff (housecleaning, baggage, restaurant waitstaff, chef, etc) who all worked the hardest have the best and friendliest personalities at The Harbourview Chinese YMCA. This 9 score is for them.

The location is perfect with a great view of the harbour. The hotel is close to two metro lines and situate at a quiet area.

United StatesI found the hotel a bit overpriced considering the size of the rooms (but Hong Kong is expensive so it’s still good value). The staff at the reception were not the friendliest whenever I had questions about the city or help with stuff. Also the laundry service is extremely expensive.
I was working at the Convention Center so this was the most affordable option close by. The room was convenient and comfortable. Also located close to some small convenience stores and not very far walk to the subway and bus stops (which works amazingly in HK). The people at the baggage counter were amazingly kind and friendly.

SingaporeOlder rooms on lower floors really need a refresh. We booked that for the first night but had to upgrade to the renovated rooms because the older rooms are really not great. But the manager was very nice and accommodating to our needs. Smokers outside not great. A lot of noisy mainland Chinese tourists also not great.
Location is great. Renovated rooms on the upper floors are great. Vending machines very useful if you have an Octopus card. Service at front desk extremely helpful.

The staff at the front desk and in housekeeping were very helpful and made checking in and out very smooth. The room had a nice view of the HK harbour, but also had good curtains to block out the light when it's time to sleep.

AustriaThere was a fire alarm, no sounds, only blinking red light in the room. If it wasn't a false alarm, many people would have died in their sleep. This would be a big no-no in other countries
Breakfast is good, include it in the price, otherwise it is expensive. Avoid the buffet dinner, super expensive and not a good value for money, unless you can eat really a lot
