Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesThey transfer us from a different room. We booked supposedly for a family room, but they give us different variation of room. Just so sad because supposedly we wanted to have a family bonding while in the room.

MalaysiaIt is super cramped, don’t think it’s for 3 person. Basically we have no place to put our luggage or opening it. The condition is so bad like it’s in a slump. Very dirty and very uncomfortable. It is not for human to stay! Just stay away from this place.
Apart from the strategic location. There’s nothing that I like about with this property.

Germany-
Taj Mahal and Golden Showers The host and crew managed to bring an authentic Indian experience to Hong Kong. Upon entering the building complex, you are surprised by the number of small shops selling supposedly freshly cooked yet old-looking Indian food, accompanied by an endless array of currency exchange booths and small secondhand phone stores. In the evening, we also had the pleasure of being approached by some trustworthy individuals offering us a broad selection of adult candy, such as MDMA or some lovely hash. One of the many elevators takes you to the Days Hostel, where the concierge guides you to one of the many other Indian-run hostels and your actual room. The room itself wasn’t fully cleaned when we arrived, but after a quick wash-down of the bathroom with the showerhead by a professional, we were finally able to enter our cozy nest for the next three nights. Three people, one bed with a width of roughly 1.1 meters, and an extra single bed (roughly 70 cm), combined with the very limited space between the beds - basically not allowing more than one person at a time to move - created a truly intimate feeling we appreciated. Upon further inspection, the room offered some additional surprises we weren’t aware of at first. Flushing the toilet led to the entire bathroom floor being flooded by (hopefully) the fresh water rushing into the toilet. We were also happy to find some hair and heavy dust throughout the room - lifting up the trash can isn’t advised. Next to the elevator, there is also a staircase housing some cockroaches and occasionally a worker taking a small cigarette break, covering the stench of human excrements—or rats; we aren’t sure. Overall, we had a lovely time here with a lot of laughs. We would recommend the hostel to anyone looking for a subpar stay with very small rooms in a dubious building.

TaiwanThe room doors are fire doors so I'm my rooms case it's appear a bit stiff/heavy. Other rooms I've stayed in here haven't been that much. So with this room, my door does not close smoothly, but fast/slams against the frame, and then needs to be pushed to completely close, which of course can be annoying for other guests because of the unnecessary noise if kinda having to force the door completely shut. The doors just need a tool or plain to shave a few layers off the closing door frames edge, then it will fit the actual frame and not need to be forced completely shut/locked.
Due to a mix up with my visa for my next destination, I've had to extend my stay in Hong Kong. This was my first accommodation and I'm happy I returned. There are many guesthouses in this building and after discovering I could not fly at the airport due to a visa issue, I booked another guesthouse for four nights because I knew I would be busy going back and forth to get my visa sorted out. That guesthouse failed to attend at the agreed check in time, accused me of being late, refused to accept I had the booking confirmation and a timestamped photo of their property, and basically told me to sleep in McDonalds because I would not pay extra for "late check in". Following this they cancelled my booking and put me down as a no-show, so I "lost" $100 USD. So if you are browsing guesthouses here, go with this one because the value is the best I've found here so far. The rooms look like what you see in the pictures, the staff are helpful and always around, they checked me in early and didn't charge me extra, free coffee and hot water dispensers, and overall I have felt welcome here and safe. There are also friendly staff from the Philippines and lots of nice Filipino guests and families who stay here. So it's been nice to chat with people here too. On the ground floor you'll find lots of food places (indian, Filipino, groceries) and you're very near most forms of transport. The surrounding area has everything. Food, shopping, laundry, BigC, and the bus from the airport practically stops outside the building. The rooms are secure too, with a main door keypad sensor and then the lockable individual guest rooms within that unit. So if you book a few rooms for family visit, then it's convenient because it's like having separate rooms together inside a secure apartment.

Hong KongI don't like everything starting with the staff mostly in the room. Poor service. if you need to make a request about those who don't have a room, you have to go to the other building because their receptionist is in the other building. TURTLE LIFT !! to be honest I didn't like anything, we just didn't have a place to stay that night.

JapanIt’s overpriced for small room. Woman at the reception is very rude, offensive and doesn’t listen any request. I asked her for cleaning the room but ignored. Room facilities are old and TV doesn’t work. It’s better to negotiate with Indian people at the end of Chung King Mansion for finding reasonable room.
