Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PhilippinesWe booked two rooms, but ended up staying on 1 deluxe family room, it was okay because originally booked for 7 people but we were only 4 when we visited. The first room that was given to us was not cleaned as someone stayed in the room, thus, they ended up giving us 1 room in the price of 2.
Room was ok. The location of Chungking mansion was near from 7/11, train station, even avenue of stars and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

JapanThe accommodation score is, at most, 3/100. The toilet was barely functional enough to flush.
It's completely the world of "Chungking Express". For me as a lover of that movie, there was a kind of Disneyland. Suspicious peddlers were swarming in the Chungking mansion, with no window inside the room, however, there was a certain warmth in the people who gathered there.

Singapore1) Chungking Mansions itself has a Seedy Reputation. Most HK locals I talked to don't really like to come here because of its Seedy Feel. Its not the sort of place that you would want to bring Children and Family along. This place is really meant more for Experienced Solo Travellers. If this is your first time Solo Travelling, I would not recommend this. That said, the people within are actually decent and as long as you politely decline any Touts and not make any Eye Contact with them when they approach you, they will not disturb you further. 2) The elevators in Chungking Mansions are very small and can only accomodate 2-3 people max. Learn where are the locations of the Staircases so you will know how to evacuate fast in the event of an emergency. 3) Towels are not provided, so you need to bring your own. 4) Bedsheets had a couple of stains and were not changed daily. 5) The door lock worked, but I would recommend to bring your personal door lock device for additional security. Keep your expectatons low like I did and you may be pleasantly surprised. I legit did not even expect Free WIFI. This place is not some luxurious 5 star hotel. Its just a place for you to park your luggage and sleep for the night. It's decent for what it is, you pay for what you get. Bring your own toiletries. Anything available is considered a Bonus. I actually kindda like this place. It gave me a Rustic Seedy "Cyberpunk" City sort of feel that is unmatched. I actually won't mind staying here in Chungking Mansions again if the price is right.
Chungking Mansions is very strategically located in the Heart of Tsim Sha Tsui and it is very easy to reach. If you are exiting the MTR, don't go to Exit D3 as advised in the MTR, go to Exit N3 instead which will be much nearer. Chungking Mansions itself looks complicated, but its actually quite easy to follow the Signs to the Block you want to go. As long as you keep your eyes open and follow the signages on the ceiling, you can easily locate which Block you need. Although its called "City HK Guest House", there are actually several different Motels inside. Mine was called "Canadian Motel" at Block E. The BEST thing I liked was that when I needed to check out, all I needed to do is leave my Keycard and Key in the room and I can just walk out without going to reception. Things that I liked: 1) Check in was alright, process was relatively smooth. The Check in guy was an Indian chap who spoke English who explained things clearly. That said, understandably he cannot speak Mandarin, and I saw a China Traveller having troubles communicating with him. Of course I stepped in to help to translate. 2) There is an additional Keycard Main Door that you need to enter before entering into your Motel Room so thats another layer of security. 3) Hot Drinking Water is available 24/7 at a very Small Pantry. There is also a Working Refridgerator. They also have some Toilet Paper Rolls here for you to take and use. 4) The Room is adequate for a Solo Traveller and is not for fussy. Its small, not the cleanest room in the world, but is decent for the price you pay. 5) The Aircon was very strong and powerful, it was so cooling and comfortable 6) Hot water was available in the Shower and it really provided nice Hot Water. 7) There is even Free WIFI that was Fast and Stable. THIS exceeded my expectations tbh. 8) Power sockets worked well, i could charge my devices with no issues. 9) Bathroom was small, but Toilet was able to flush well.

Czech RepublicThis is the cheapest accomodation you can get in HK, but anyway, the quality even for that money is very poor. I was in single room with private shower, but without hot water. The room smelled after ciggaretes, and you cannot get rid of that smell. Also even tho I had AC, but it didnt work properly, it work more like fan, when you switch it off, you feel hot again immediately.
Location is great, and that is the only advantage.

GeorgiaFridge did not work, if you use air conditioning, expect it to be quite noisy. Towels are not provided by default and you need to ask for them at the reception (not a big deal though). The location might be tricky to find.
Location is great and the building is kinda iconic (which does not make it comfortable for living in though). The room was (extremely) small but clean and relatively convenient if you come there just to sleep. Staff was helpful enough. Internet was reasonably fast. Acceptable experience overall, just lower your expectations and consider that it is probably one of the cheapest accommodations in TST.

ItalySome bed sheets had little stains and some pillows smelled bad. There was a mistake and another guest entered my room while i was inside. If it wasn’t for that mistake I would have definitely given a higher grade
It’s actually a building with many guest houses and they all have a common reception at 10F block D (that apparently manages them all) so the rooms might be different from the ones advertised. They upgraded me for free to a family room for my first 3 nights. Room was cleaner than expected but not perfect for sure.
