The owner was super friendly and helpful even though he didn't speak English. The room was very comfortable and clean and we had beautiful views to wake up to. The property is surrounded by nature right next to the river. It was great they accepted credit as a lot of places we found don't.

The walls are thin, so you hear everything from the other rooms. Bring earplugs. A mirror in the room would be nice and a little shelf or stool to put things at the sink. Minor issues, though.

Breakfast right at the river, perfect start in the day! Lovely owners that help with tours and transportation. The room is spacious, additionally to the own bathroom, there are more outside in case it's occupied. Two fans (it does get hot in the room). Mosquito nets at the windows. Walk to the center of town for 15 minutes or take a tuktuk. Would stay here again, thank you so much!

Room had gaps in between windows/roof and the walls meaning bugs could get in (although a mosquito net for the bed was provided). Private bathroom was just outside the room and more open to bugs

It was a perfect place to rest and recharge. A very peaceful hostel located right on the river and run by a wonderful family who are available to help with anything you need. Basic facilities but wonderful stay for those who are looking for more authentic and tranquil stay over the social, party vibes of other hostels in the area.

The bathtub floods slightly in the shower, but it is common in old facilities. Lots of mosquitoes around the ground floor area but that's because lodge is located in nature. Perhaps mosquito coils can be set up to make property perfect.

I usually write way more criticisms than great comments. But property stood out as one of the best among 80+ budget accommodations in this region that I've stayed in. Great views of the river from the attic room with many windows. It wasn't hot even without using the fan. Spacious room and nice set up with many chairs to put stuff. It felt like living among nature. Great value for money, which justifies slightly off-town location, but it takes only 15 minutes to walk to the central area. There is another cool restaurant bar also located beside the river, just 3 minutes walk away. Staff seem warm and friendly, helping to organise shuttles and tours that cost cheaper than booking them online. Food and beverage are also available upon request.

Rooms had only the minimum and no soap. the location was also kinda far away, so you had to pay for a tuk tuk unless you chose the 2 nearby restaurants.

Staff was so nice! Breakfast was good and the lake-view was insanely nice and idyllic. They also offer a tour, which was so good and affordable!!

Great location, right on the river! There are a lot of seating/chilling areas available for you to relax in, while listening to the sound of the water and the birds all around you. Staff was extremely accommodating, and helped to book us tuk tuks and arranged tubing for us.

The front part of the property is under construction, so it was a bit hard to find, a sign would be helpful. And there was a power outage which meant we had no wifi and no water for one night, but I think this happened in the whole village.

The location on the river is beautiful! And the rooms are comfortable, not too crowded. staff is friendly and breakfast is nice, especially with the river view.

ask for a room that's away from the road, mine was noisy. no kitchen as they want to make extra money cooking for you and that's understandable. no soap in the room. location is not very walkable, tuktuk rides to the town's center needed

the hosts are a young family, super friendly, helpful and caring. they will arrange everything for you, the buses, the tours to Semuc - i highly recommend to go with a tour for 200, because tuktuk and entrance costs will be 160 and won't include the cave and all the fun you get if you're a solo traveler and have no company. as for accommodation, i was blessed to have a normal bed and not a bunk bed. hammoks by the river are cool

Having the river running right by the lodge was lovely. Our room had big windows overlooking the river. The owners are very helpful. I don't speak Spanish but we patiently conversed using google translate. They recommended the tour to the pools and caves. This trip was great fun and good value, one of those trips that is better to do as part of a group with a guide.

I loved waking up to the river everyday. This hostel was the most amazing view by the river. The hosts were so nice. At one point they took my call to meet me outside because I was scared of a street dogs they came to my rescue right away. As for the dorms they are very simple and basic but they do the job.

Just spent some amazing days at this cozy spot at the end of Lanquín. The river in the backyard with a dock for breakfast was beautiful. The view was incredible, and the host and his family were super kind and helpful. They even arranged transportation & tuk tuk's for us for a good price. Also, very fast internet on the whole property. It felt like home away from home! Can't recommend it enough!

There was no free drinking water. Luckily we had our own filter bottle otherwise we would have had to buy plastic bottles and you never know where they end up. The bathroom is very small, so if you're taller than 1,70 m your knees bump into the wall while peeing ;)

It's a really nice place right next to the river. We had a very spacious room with a balcony. The hammocks are nice to relax. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There was no electricity in the town when we arrived. But they turned on the generator, also during the day for a bit, so we could shower after Semuc. Would definitely stay here again. Breakfast with coffee was 40 Quetzales.

Our room was close to the road so it was a bit noisy due to passing vehicles. The private bathroom wasn’t that good - cold water in the shower and bad smell from the sink. We preferred using the shared ones that were clean and had hot water.

Great location on the river. 15 min walk from city center. Very nice and helpful hosts. They helped us in everything we needed with a smile. Spacious room and comfortable bed. There was a fan in the room (no AC)
