CanadaThe restaurant service is very uneven. Most of the people waiting on us were smiling and seemed like they were happy to see us, except for one male server, who we could see him behind the counter, ALWAYS on his cell phone and not giving us the service, When he did, his manner was unfriendly. Also, at times (we ate all our meals there), we could wait 30 minutes for the food and at other times it would come in 10-15 minutes. There does not seem to be a boss / leader in that dining room which is badly needed. Also, the tables are wooden and not so clean and the chairs are EXTREMELY uncomfortable. Also, we had thought that the hotel was in Monterrico village, which was not the case, and we were told that we could only take the local bus (every 30 minutes) to go there, but to catch the bus we would have to walk a dirt road (1 km ) at 32 C,+ it was too much for us.. On the day we left, I decided to go in the pool, but this time I took the pool stairs (usually, I would just let myself slide in from the side)). But, I had not noticed that it was slippery (not clean) and THERE WAS NO HAND RAIL TO HANG UNTO), so my feet went into the air and I landed on my back, on the right side. I hurt myself pretty bad, and being 70 years old, I could have broken something (I did not fortunately). I was bleeding, my husband and I screamen for help, finally 2 young people came and I could see that they did not know what to do, With my basic Spanish, I asked them to bring an emergency kit so that I could dress the wound and clean the blood on myself. They came back with some products but not a kit as you would have expected in a hotel. I finally told the young man that I wanted to document my fall at the hotel reception. This was done, the part 'solution' was to be filled out by them and I asked that a copy be sent to my email but that has not been done yet after 10 days.
The room was large and they gave us a quiet one near the entrance with a large balcony and shade from nearby trees. The pool was very nice and we swam every day.

The hotel was incredible, exactly like the photos. The location was very quiet, apart from the crashing of the waves, which wasn't a problem at all! The restaurant was open from 8am until 9pm, even later I believe! The coffee and views were great, the pool and the facilities were great, and the cleaning level was amazing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great time at the beach!
