It’s not a dislike but because the place is close to the park, you got do all your meals there. It was raining pretty heavy every night and was leaking inside the room and got some of our stuff wet.

The place is literally a 5min walk from Semuc champey Park. Big room but there is a lot of insects.

In the dorm your section with your bed has no light, there are also no keys to the rooms. It was probably just because it's not the height of the season but almost no one else was staying there. At the bar the menu had a selection of cocktails that couldn't be ordered. The food is quite expensive but tastes decent, it is very far from anywhere else so you can only eat in the hostel.

Excdleent Location close to Semuc Champey, very quiet. The bathroom has been newly refurbished and the showers are warm. The tour we did with Jose from Champey Travels was excellent, highly recommend.

Even though the meals were good and quite affordable, a shared kitchen would be a nice touch. Something for you to store some food/ drinks, make some coffee/tea, etc. They should inform that their wifi (Starlink) is switched off at night

The location; quite peaceful and close to the major local attraction. Staff was friendly, very responsive and helpful in finding tours and transportation. Food at the restaurant was good and affordable. They provide free water. They allow pets. I booked a private cabin with shared bathroom. The cabin was really spacious and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had hot water.

Great location, but many downsides The hostel offers a fair price and is in a great location close to Semuc Champey — perfect if you want to start your day early. However, my overall experience had several downsides. After eating at the hostel’s restaurant for the third time, I got food poisoning, which really affected my stay. There’s no shared kitchen available, and you’re not allowed to eat your own food on the premises, which is frustrating — especially for travelers with dietary restrictions. Vegan options are also not available at the restaurant. The shuttle service is only provided if you’re traveling with more than one person, which wasn’t clearly communicated in advance. The music in the common areas is often way too loud, making it hard to relax. Additionally, one of the receptionists was quite rude and unhelpful. Overall: the location is great for visiting Semuc Champey, but if you care about food flexibility, a calm atmosphere, and respectful service, you might want to consider other options.

The hostel has a perfect location at the river very close to Semuc. The food they serve is tasty. This place could easily be rated 8 or 9 if it was not for a management. The person responsible for contact with guests and working at the bar is very unpleasant and makes even the simple things unsolvable. He plays loud crappy music in the evening from his stereo making it impossible to enjoy the sounds of nature coming from the surrounding nature.

I assume I'm 1-2 years this place will be a lot better. There is still a lot of construction and details to be built. Luckily I wasn't desturbed by Amy noise. Still this place already could be run better and more thoroughlynwith eyes for the details. My room was huge but it was just a room with a bed. Not even hooks to hang a towel etc. Bathroom, I assume the shower sewage smelled baldy. Still overall I would recommend that place!

I wish the owners and staff took better care of the animals. It would be nice if they would invest in flea and tick remedies to keep the dogs healthy. It’s incredibly disheartening to see the dogs suffer unnecessarily from healthcare neglect. It takes away from the experience when you’re worried about their welfare. It also puts the guests at risk.

The location is beautiful. Right on the Cahabon River. It is Walking distance from Semuc Champey where you can engage in some great adventurous and leisurely activity surrounded by nature.

The food at the hotel was not tasty and quite expensive.

The location was absolutely fantastic! We were able to walk to the entrance of the national park. For the experience of spending a few days directly in the jungle, this hotel was a great choice. The pickup and drop-off service to and from the hotel worked perfectly.

The room with a whole wall as a window doesn’t have any curtain to cover it so everyone can see you but it’s not very visible from the common space. No lights in the bathrooms (not a problem for me but a warning for others)

Great location 10 min walking from semuc champey, we went there around 9 and were first. Shared bathroom has multiple showers and toilets and was always clean. Breakfast was very good, restaurant had limited food options but they were enough. There is a mosquito net. Very friendly staff, helped us organise a shuttle to Flores for the next day.

Place needs a little work. The "breakfast" is pancakes. No coffee 😢 We had to pay 5 quetzales (almost $1) for a cup of hot water. Everything at the bar and restaurant is very expensive for a hostal, almost more than double anywhere else. The main thing we had a hard time with was sleeping. All night for both nights we were kept awake by dogs and loud guests.

We enjoyed the location and the view. The offer to buy two beers and use the tubes for free was nice. The sitting area was nice and the people working there were helpful in answering questions. This is definitely an economic option so definitely worth it for the price.

The dorm had a really strange/bad smell. There are construction works going on at the moment, but the staff was really attentive about it and notify you about it before they start working.

The boxes in the dorm were comfy and really spacious. There was a friendly and chill atmosphere. Hot showers! The location is perfect!

The place has no kitchen, so you have to buy food at every meal. They also don’t let you store food. So if you come with any perishables you might as well bin them..

It’s right on the river and about a two minute walk from Semuc Champey. A lovely jungle setting.
