Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Kingdom- The ceiling fan is not enough in the rooms. A/C should be in ALL rooms. It was 38°C when I stayed and the ceiling fan was not strong enough to ensure a comfortable temperature. - WiFi should be in all areas of the property. It’s 2025. No one should have to go out of their room to get WiFi connections. - There was poor communication when trying to organise a shuttle from Flores city (not the airport) to the Lodge. It took me 2 days to get the correct information and correct costs from whoever I was speaking to (in English and Spanish!). I was given two different costs (and of course they said the most expensive was the correct cost) and they kept giving me times of pick up from the airport when I kept explaining I wasn’t at the airport, I was in Flores itself. However, once actually at the lodge, booking a return shuttle was very straightforward. - The pool was closed during my stay and no prior warning or discount was offered.
- Excellent location. 5 min walk to the Park entrance. - Lodges are compact and clean. - Each lodge had a sitting area outside, which was nice. - Mosquito nets on the beds. - Bathrooms and shower area kept very clean and good shower pressure and temperature. - Restaurant offers good variety of food. - I found all the staff to be very pleasant in person (over messaging, more mixed! See below!)

United StatesFantastic place, steps from Tikal! The room was spotless and the facilities were great. It was hot, yes, but what do you expect? You're in the jungle! The fan was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed the howler monkeys! <3 They offered a great discount since the pool was out of commission.

IndiaIt was good to stay in Tikal for the night and this place was very close so super convenient. The staff was great but they were a bit fussy to take USDs even when the condition of the notes was great, we used them afterwards and no one complained but at Jungle lodge they created a bit of trouble for us.

United StatesShuttle is a little pricey in comparison to other options. No filtered water refill stations (however, they provide some bottled water).
Hostel rooms are cozy and comfortable, with full mosquito nets. Bathrooms are cleaned often. Lots of common areas, and the surrounding gardens are gorgeous. Sunrise tour was informative, and a coffee bar beforehand was a nice bonus.

SwedenTwo things that would make the stay better is to have extended WiFi coverage outside of the lobby area, and to extend the restaurant menu with some more local dishes and vegetarian options.
The prime benefit of the Jungle Lodge is its proximity to the Tikal ruins, making the stay worth it to catch the sunrise in the park.

United StatesThis was our third time staying at the Jungle Lodge Hotel and it continues to be as well run and beautiful as it was 20 years ago. We had our family of 5, with some of us staying at the hostal and two of us staying in the bungalows. It was a very hot time of the year but the rooms cooled down nicely with a breeze (no AC). its a real treat to be in the jungle with so much relative luxury. It was special to meet the two grandsons of the founder of the hotel and important local collaborator with archaeologists, José Antonio Ortiz Contreras.

CanadaI guess the pool could've been warmer, and it would've been nice if the ho(s)tel gave (more) free drinking water. Also would've liked if the restaurant offered some food - like a coffee and croissant - before the Tikal national park opened, since nothing else is open around to get some sustenance before exploring.
Absolutely gorgeous building surrounded by a jungle and SO close (a 5 minute walk) to the entrance of Tikal. Stunning dark wood decor, lovely common room (with a pool table and foosball), outdoor pool with deck chairs, comfy sitting area near the reception desk too. Oh! And above the "hostel" part was another common area with hammocks. The room was small but still the right size. Comfy beds with mosquito nets. Shared bathrooms that were clean and private. They screened a documentary about the Mayans for free the night that I stayed too. Really amazing experience here. The restaurant was wonderful too! Ate dinner and then breakfast there and enjoyed it both times (and wasn't overly expensive).

United StatesWhen I booked this property I had no idea it was a for a bedroom with a communal bathroom. I was able to change at the site. The only room available was a junior suite. It was nice but not worth the price and I never had hot water.
Beautiful setting. Restaurant staff wonderful. Food great.

PanamaOn the downside, the pool is extremely out of shape and would require a complete a redo.
The hotel is extremely well located right in the tickle park. The staff is friendly.. We booked the host hotel by mistake, but they could accommodate us the next day to move to a private room although we decided not to since the shared facilities were cleaning off and good enough for one more night The restaurant offers a decent choice of dishes and they are overall pretty good. I recommend the María cheesecake and tequila pie. That is more a lemon pie.

AustraliaThe restaurant was overpriced and the food was pretty ordinary. The bed was only a double on a queen sized base and the fan (whilst appreciated) was very noisy.
Beautiful common spaces. Lovely to stay within the NP and hear the jungle sounds.
