Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanHot water shower was so nice but is only available a few hours a day. No pool.
Amazing to stay right in the park. For sunrise tours they give you a little breakfast first (at 4am) and then the park entrance is right next to the hotel. Our first afternoon we heard howler monkeys for about an hour super close. The room was cute and comfortable. The restaurant was quite good, we had all our meals there. I was able to pay the airport shuttle taxi by credit card at the hotel.

NetherlandsThe filter water tank was defective and they expected us to buy all the water. Well NO. After my protest they filled our bottles with filter water from the kitchen, but clearly not happy with this. Not nice
Nice big comfortable bed. Very near the park entrance. The food was very good and plentiful. There was one waiter that gave very good service. The others were oke

United StatesAlthough very clean, the room could use a fresh coat of paint and cosmetic improvements. I was surprised to learn that there was a 10% surcharge to use my credit card which seems excessive.
The reception/dining area was welcoming and the food was freshly made to order. The outdoor central garden area was resplendent. I particularly liked the fact that Tikal’s entrance was a short walk away.

CanadaThey put us in the worst room, but they agreed to move us after a day. The restaurant had a good breakfast, however dinner was mixed. I would recommend the tacos with deep fried shimp. Stay away from food with sauces.
We stayed here as it is located in Tikal National Park, so you can entrer the park at 6am ahead of the crowds and the heat of the day. The location is excellent, a 5 minute walk to the gate. The hotel grounds are nice. If you stay here, you really want to stay in one of the cabins with a balcony with chair and a hammock, so you can relax after a day in Tikal.

United States"full board" or pre paying food is just confusing.
Next to the park entrance and museum. In the jungle where you hear short bursts of monkey and parrot chatter and can see the stars on a clear night. (I wanted to hear the monkeys in the night.) The Hotel selected a wonderful guide for our Tikal tours. The Inn's drivers to and from Belize were all four excellent and told us about the area and stopped for pictures. The hotel food was good (fruit and juices were fantastic). It is a crazy humid climate -- expect some stickiness. Appreciated the restaurant being open late for those who take the sunset tour.

United StatesThe room needs to be refreshed. There were a few items broken in the room; the fan only had one speed, which was: High; our location was the only one with out a covered patio and without chairs or a bench to sit; the workers (for the park) were talking loudly in the early morning; the some of the wait staff in the restaurant were not well trained, not attentive and not welcoming. It was just an okay experience.
It was close to the park and that was the only thing that stood out about the hotel.

United StatesFor the price, we expected more amenities to be provided within the room.
Clean facilities with friendly, helpful staff at the front desk and in the restaurant. The hotel restaurant had good food prepared with much care. We stayed in a king bed room which had plenty of space for 2 people. The location is perfect for anyone who wants to get the most out of being in Tik'al. We stayed for two days and were able to easily explore the site multiple times. We would stay here again if we return to Tik'al.

IrelandThe area itself is quite small and we were closest to the restaurant. Supposed to be quiet hours from 9pm but we had issues with noise both at night and early morning with people talking outside; though more of a people issue than a hotel issue. It's not cheap but it's understandable given the lack of options in Tikal itself. Still worth staying in the park in our opinion rather than Flores with the heat, humidity and early start 🤷🏼♂️
Location is great. Right in middle of the park. Bed was big and comfy. Room was big and spacious. Bug screens on the windows. Staff were nice. Food was decent if a little pricey.. We got a sunrise tour through the Inn and it turned out to be just the two of us so was essentially a private tour - Yonathan was excellent. Nice to be able to go back to bed for a few hours before venturing out again. I can't imagine doing a whole day tour from Flores.

JapanLack of a lounge area to relax outside the room. Although there’s a hammock by our door, sometimes you need a chair and a place to put your feet up. Hot water never came even after running the tap during stated hours.
Excellent location by the Park entrance made it easy to pop in and out for the sunrise, cone back for breakfast, take a nap and then spend the rest of the day through sunset in magical Tikal. The nice staff accommodated a sentimental request and a late dinner due to our late arrival from the airport.
