Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesIt's hard to think of things I didn't like. Perhaps only that I couldn’t stay longer to enjoy all the things San Marcos and Ahau has to offer. Thanks for a lovely stay!
The staff were warm, attentive, and full of recommendations. Chatting with them felt like catching up with old friends. Breakfast was a delight, with the fresh fruit bowl becoming my daily favorite. My cozy room, the leafy calm of San Marcos, and hours spent on the terrace soaking in the scenery made it feel like a secret little paradise, perfect for any mood or weather.

IrelandGorgeous rustic hostel surrounded by greenery. It’s plants everywhere and there’s a beautiful view from the rooftop. Comfiest bed I’ve had in Guatemala and just a really nice feel to the place. I had the typical breakfast and fruit bowl and both were delicious. It’s also the cheapest place in town!

ItalySuper chill hostel with a cozy, family vibe. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. WiFi works great (unless all of San Marcos is down). They’re working on a rooftop bar — the terrace is already nice and will be even better soon. Only 10 minutes to the center. Would totally recommend it!

United StatesNothing major stood out. Just be aware that the authenticity of the space means it’s not a luxury resort, it’s more real than polished, which was exactly what I was looking for.
I really enjoyed my stay. The space feels authentic in a way that many places in the area don’t—genuine, grounded, and welcoming. Eric was awesome and easy to talk to. We ended up chatting for over an hour, which really added a personal touch to the experience.

United StatesI loved this hostel - it's tucked away in the nature, so peaceful and relaxed. The breakfast was excellent quality, and the staff were all friendly and kind. Daniel gave me so many good recommendations for the area! I also loved that the dorm beds weren't bunks. The hot water in the shower always worked. You can tell this place was created with a lot of care. Thanks to Daniel and Erick!

GuatemalaYou might find some visitors in your room during the night (spiders and small scorpions) not dangerous due to the fact that these spiders are not poisonous, so you can either kill them or simply put them away :) Finding the hotel was a little difficult, although the walk is quite enjoyable.
The place is remarkably taken care of, and the service from Moisés was simply impeccable. The room was very clean and comfortable as the space quite enjoyable. The breakfast was every morning a pleasant time around the people and the ambiance of this beautiful hotel.

United KingdomAmazing little oasis a bit outside of the busyness of San Marcos. The fact that it's not so easy to find is actually a plus and adds to the experience. The room was small and basic but the common areas make up for this. There are many places to chill and enjoy the views, read, etc. The facilities are very rustic and it has almost a camping feel with showers and bathrooms being outside, but for me this is a plus. Daniel was very friendly and took the time to show me around the place and explain everything. I wish I stayed longer.

PhilippinesNothing.
I love everything about this place. It truly feels like home. Don’t expect anything fancy—its charm lies in its rustic simplicity. You live in harmony with nature here. The people who run and manage the space are exceptional. Daniel is absolutely amazing—he makes sure every guest is well taken care of. Camille, who helps around, brings a gentle, feminine energy that softens and warms the space. Meeting the founder, Erik, is a wonderful bonus. I’m deeply grateful to all of them for creating and sharing this space with the community.

BrazilSpacious place with plants, cats, dogs, good internet for remote working. Be noted that it's a short walk from main street and up in the mountain, that means you have vegetation which comes with spiders and such (which is not a problem). The shower was hot and the bathrooms clean. Also had a nice terrace.

GuernseyDifficult to find, would recommend not doing at night when it is dark if possible. No air con or fans in the room however it gets a lot cooler at night so this wasn’t a problem. The curtains don’t lock out much light so prepare to be woken up when sun comes up. Personally I didn’t mind as I am an early riser anyway but if you want a bit more of a lie in this may not be ideal spot for you
So much outdoor space and communal areas to chill out. Beautiful roof top which caught the morning sun. Free breakfast was an absolute bargain for the price. Two options one cooked and other granola and yoghurt. Best free meal I have had at a hostel so far
