It did not look as morden as I would expect, but the overall word to describe the property will be cozy.

They have pretty good location, and a few good options for breakfast, there are also other restaurants in a walking distance from the hotel. Also from M-F they have lunch available.

The parking is all along the perimeter of the hotel and is not secure. If you are staying and have valuables in the vehicle, I'd suggest you find another place. If not, this place is great!

My room was the least expensive and probably the smallest room available. That's on me. Still, very small. Only power was on the opposite side of the room so no charging phone by the bed. AC unit was too high up on the wall - intentionally, I assume - to change temps. Very cold and directed at bed. Had to turn it off and on throughout the night to maintain relative comfort.

The exterior of the property was deceptive, being reminiscent of a typical stateside motel. Inside it opened up with nice courtyards and quality finishes. Breakfast was included and was good - not standout. Friendly, helpful staff. Good, but very hard mattress. Slept well.

I parked my motorcycle in their parking lot, they locked it, and someone broke in and stole my gear which was in a locked top case. Be careful in Puerto Barrios and at this location. Sorry for the bad review, but the manager's first reaction was to tell me their policy is that they're not responsible for stolen items. I understand that, but you should have had some more sympathy, and probably should have refunded my 1 night stay.

It's location, you can walk or take a short drive to the municipal pier to take a boat ride to one of the beaches, or walk to Pier 17 and go eat nearby the bay.

The hotel was charming, perfect for our need, the AC work very well which was needed for weather during the time we went.

No hot water in my shower. I hope never to have to wash my hair under a cold shower ever again. Zero facilities in the room, except coat hangers and soap. The furnishings and bed linen are very old and tired and need replacing. The guy on reception is the evening is pretty grumpy. Why?! Find a new job, dude. The rest of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was too small for the amount of furniture; the bathroom door wouldn't open properly because the second bed was in the way. The light streamed into the room through the window panes about the door :/ The location was handy for the port but didn't feel too safe for a female solo traveller. I wished I'd stayed much closer to the port.

The food in the restaurant was great - and so was the lady who seemed to be doing all the service. I rate the breakfast - very tasty and great value - but dinner was good too. The place was very clean, just rather shabby.

We had a bad experience with almost everything.

There is almost nothing good about this hotel. The staff working here are VERY LOUD, and we heard a lot of noise in the afternoon, evening, and in the morning. We were woken up both days at 5 in the morning when the staff arrived because they were talking loud and laughing! We were so shocked by how loud it was, and since all the rooms faced each other in a courtyard, there was no way to escape the noise. On the first day when we arrived, we checked in and took a nap because we drove 5 and a half hours from the city. A staff member came inside the room to clean even though we just checked in and the room was already clean. From that moment on we were worried about why the staff was entering our room when there was no need to. The hotel is very outdated and the rooms are not nice at all. The restaurant is only open during the morning for breakfast and the coffee is instant coffee which is sad because Guatemala has some of the best coffee in the world. This is not a luxury hotel as we paid $57 for each night. However, the conditions are so bad and it's not worth that price. This hotel is worth about $25 or $30 per night.

It was centrally located near harbor restaurants. We felt safe there. They had English speaking staff at the front desk and they arranged an English speaking taxi for us that arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. The room was clean and had plenty of hot water. The building felt very safe.

The room was large with a desk and chair and a comfortable bed. Air conditioning and food delivered from the kitchen. The interior gardens were very nice. A short walk to the public lauches to Rio Dulce.

No hot water in the bathroom, cold shower. They ran out of fruit at breakfast.

Not as web site photos indicated. full English photos but only offered buffet. no fruit when we sat for breakfast. no English speaking waiters.
