Absolutely amazing place, 10/10. The garden is so pretty and the rooms are very nice. They have all the kitchen items you need and the owners provide you with lots of items for your convenience (coffee, sugar, marmalade, milk, bread cookies and fantastic fruit from their garden). The scenery in the morning is fantastic. Very friendly and helpful owners. We will definitely come back here.

Yiannis is my favorite place to stay in Crete, it has a unique atmosphere thanks to the beautiful settings and great attention to every detail in and around the apartments. The accommodation is super tidy, with crips sheets and towels, well maintained kitchen equipment, all good quality and changed regularly. The owners and cleaning staff take care of the property day in, day out, and it shows. The apartments are private and the layout is thought out in a way that neighbors don't disturb each other, and there is plenty of outdoor seating in the garden for everyone. Absolutely perfect for a very relaxing holiday - this was my 3rd stay and hopefully not the last.

It was one of the best stays ever! Not only was the room absolutely wonderful, but the entire Zakros area was breathtaking. The scenery is truly beautiful, and the people we met were incredibly warm and welcoming. As for the room, the gardens, and the hospitality, there’s little to add—everything was exceptional, reflecting a high level of professionalism and genuine care. Katerina and Maria are both amazing individuals! They were so supportive, kind, and truly made our stay special. We will definitely return—perhaps not soon, but without a doubt!

It Is a magic place. If you are looking for relax, if you love the peaceful this Is your Place. There are a lot of areas where you can relax, the Place Is really beautiful. The home is cold during Summer and you can stay outside also during hot hours because there are place with shade and hammock. You can reach by a short walk the beach or 3 minute by car. The nearest beach have free sunbeds and umbrella. The owner Is really kind and ready to assist the customers in the best ways. Really reccomended

Dream vacation place, the studios are located in a superb domain, calm, very well maintained with a wonderful view on the olive trees and the sea. Katerina, the host, is very kind and helpful. The free bikes are also a big plus. We hope to come back some day !

We decided to leave too early, would have stayed here at least two more nights! Room size is about right for a couple, plenty private space outside.

Very well located to explore Kato Zakros, while staying at a great venue designed to relax and enjoy the beautiful east Cretan countryside. Property is surrounded by olive trees, a vineyard, and lots of local biodiversity. Great places to sit and contemplate nature. In addition the wonderful Cretan hospitality is in every detail, we received lots of delicious goods and treats upon arrival and were able to do our laundry at the site. Would come here again!

Everything was exceptional. The grounds were gorgeous and we had three terraces to relax on. The room was small but charming with traditional stonework and an updated bathroom with good water pressure (not easy to come by in Crete!). The hostess also greeted us with a basket of bread, olives and other treats. We loved this place!

Beautiful garden and areas to sit. Comfortable room with everything you could possibly need. Warm welcome and lots of tasty locally produced welcome gifts. Great location for the beach and exploring the Gorge of the Dead.

Yiannis Retreat is a little corner of paradise on Earth. The accommodations are decorated with great taste and have all the necessities. The outdoor space is furnished with a lot of character. There are flowers and trees of all kinds and relaxation areas (hammocks, deckchairs) The place is calm and peaceful with magnificent sunrise and sunset colors. The staff is very warm and welcoming, they always have a little attention to us. We were greeted with fresh fruit (the figs and grapes are exceptional) and homemade products (delicious little cakes). We had a magical stay thanks to Katerina and her entire team. Thank you a thousand times for this fabulous stay.

There was nothing we didn’t like with regards to the place. The only thing was that there was no mobile phone reception but that wasn’t their fault and they did have excellent wifi.

Yiannis Retreat was a fantastic find! We loved the facilities and the room so much. The owners have put great effort into making it a truly comfortable and peaceful place where guests can relax and enjoy themselves.

We had an exceptionnal experience in Yannis retreat.The house is extremely clean and well maintained.The decoration was authentic cretan, rustic but not rudimentary with the house being fully equiped with all the necessary appliances (good coffee machine, kitchen, microwaves...) . We particularly loved that we had access to 2 private yards, surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants from crete. Actually the garden deserves a section by itself..our little daughter loved walking arround, watching the different plants and looking for the cat:)The owners are so.kind and polite, they brought us fruits, cake and local goods upon our arrival.Katw Zakros is a small seaside village, suitable for people looking for quite, remote places. It is very close to the famous beaches in Xerokampos.It was definitevely our best stay in crete in a long time, I hope we will manage to come back!

A gem at the end of Crete! Our room was extremely clean and it had small but fully equipped kitchen. It also had a private balcony with a garden view where we enjoyed our meals. The garden itself is amazing and there is plenty of space to lounge during the day. We were also surprised how attentive and caring the staff was. I hope we visit again one day!

This was my second stay at Yiannis and equally great as the first time :) Tidy room stocked with everything you may need, daily cleaning, laundry on site, all facilites are perfectly functional. A great improvement from last year - new doors on the rooms which provide more daylight inside. Katarina is s wonderful host who is always around for her guests, I really appreciate the human-centric approach. Yiannis is a fantastic place to rest and recharge your batteries, hope to be back next year :)
