How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location was perfect for exploring as we were on the main road, so making it easy to get round the Island. The villa was beautiful and clean. It was well equipped for everything we needed, apart from a washing machine which would have been ideal, but not necessary. The AC was great for the warm nights, so sleeping was made more comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, very enjoyable and tasty, and plentiful. The swimming pool was amazing with the jacuzzi. When we arrived we were shown round by a lovely lady who brought us breakfast each day. I forgot her name, but she was a joy and very friendly. Nikos made sure we knew where the local amenities were and told us the best places to go for a food shop and best places to eat. We really enjoyed it and it felt like a home from home. Thank you for looking after us.
Nothing.

Verified reviewIt's so beautiful especially in the morning with the sun rising behind it, it's a beautiful building very well equipped and maintained, there's a coffee machine for pod's, filter coffee, and instant, it's a great location for Oia, Fira, and the airport but you will need a car, there's also a good sized supermarket nearby just ask Nikos where it is, breakfast is fresh and plentiful. Finally your host Nikos 10 out of 10, he helped us a lot and very friendly
The usual Greek plumbing thing

Verified reviewEverything was so comfortable and beautiful, great views and close to many locations on the island. The host and his support staff were so friendly and helpful. I was able to contact Nikos whenever I had questions! He was great. Breakfast was delicious
The gate to get into the property was a little difficult to manage. The key pad was not very sensitive.

Verified reviewThe location, cleanliness, the space was all wonderful! Nikos was a fabulous host too being responsive and so helpful with suggestions and helpful getting us a car hire.
The WiFi was a bit patchy on the top most floor but it was a holiday and we did need to disconnect! Another thing that would’ve helped was a pool umbrella or some shade over the hammock

Verified reviewLovely decor. Private pool and well equipped kitchen, eg coffee machine, coffee pods supplied as well as basics such as washing up liquid and olive oil. Bottles of wine and water in the fridge to welcome us. Fab breakfast everyone morning. Comfy beds. Location very convenient for exploring the island as well as getting to and from the airport. Private drive and secure parking area. Nikos and the house-keeper are both lovely people.
The only very minor points were traffic noise on the Saturday night and the wi-fi was dodgy on one of the days. But tiny, tiny negatives compared to everything else. Did not affect our enjoyment.

Verified reviewMy daughter absolutely loved that there was a shared playground she could use and meet the owner’s dog. The property is beautifully landscaped and maintained. Each windmill has a unique color and the rooms have comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. The kitchen was great for breakfast and light cooking and the location was convenient for exploring all the main villages of Santorini.
Nothing, any concerns were promptly addressed.

Verified reviewI loved the service provided, the comfort of the villa and the availability of the amazing host, Nikos. Every morning a delightful breakfast was served by the wonderful Viviane, which allowed me to happily start the day. Hence in the villa i felt incredibly comfortable and grateful to be able to peacefully rest. So I would like to thank the host, once again, Nikos, for making me and my family feel so welcomed, our hearts were full.

Noise from the road makes keeping the windows impossible at night.

Verified reviewThe Windmill Villa was in a quiet location with a security gate and private pool which made it feel safe and to our own. Breakfast was included with our lodgings was was outstanding (fresh eggs, smooth tasty yogurt, freshly cut and peeled fruits, soft fresh croissants. Daily cleaning and fresh towels. The owner was attentive and easy to access via Whatsapp answering all our questions and suggesting great restaurants to eat at. Outstanding service.
A rental car is definitely a must to get around since the villa is in a quiet area. User manuals for the appliance would have been nice but we easily found manuals on the internet to help us use the appliances.

Verified reviewThe furniture was very cute and comfortable. The place overall was very well-furnished and the shape of the property is very unique. Breakfast was also delivered every morning and was very delicious.
The pool was not heated so it was cold. The wifi was not too great from either bedroom and was only good in the living room.
