The location of the hotel is perfect — one of the rare places on the island that is right on the seaside, with its own pier. It is centrally positioned on the east side of Lesvos, just 15 minutes from Mytilene’s center, about 30 minutes from the beautiful natural Paralia Chrysi Ammos beach and Mantamados, around an hour from Skala Skamnia, Molyvos, and Petra in the north, as well as Plomari and the beautiful Tarti beach in the south. We were pleasantly surprised to find air conditioning in the rooms, although we never used it thanks to the refreshing sea breeze and the ceiling ventilation. The warm and friendly owner family, the welcoming and polite staff, and even the regular guests create an atmosphere of close friendship. Breakfast is generous and satisfying. If you wish to dine at the hotel, they also offer a Swedish buffet lunch each days of the week and an à la carte dinner twice a week. You can get all your questions answered about the island — including beaches, restaurants, cultural sites, and sightseeing spots. The hotel also organizes different tours and activities for those who want to explore the island’s culture more deeply. Tip: As part of the natural setting, it’s worth noting that on breezy days the waves and wind can make it harder to sunbathe or swim at the shore. From what I learned, windy weather is not common in summer, but it can occur for 2–3 separate weeks during the four-month high season (June to September). Considering the reasonable price, the comfort, hospitality, location, and quality of services you receive make it an excellent value for money.

The sea view, the trees, the sea was perfect. The staff was very kind and helpful. The food was very good and delicious. We had a lot of fun at the barbecue night.

There is nothing not to like

Fabulous. There was nothing not to like. Iannis, Daphne, Leana and their Staff could not do enough for all their guests. They put on walks, visits to art galleries, castles, thermal springs and much much more. You can be as busy or relaxed as you want to be. Everyone is friendly and charming we met guests that have been going every year for the last 20 years so no greater recommendation. The rooms are kept spotless, the hospitality exceptional, we have already booked for next year

My partner and I spent a few days at Votsala seeking tranquility and relaxation, and it was absolutely worth it. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to assist us, making it feel more like staying with friends than at a hotel. The peaceful atmosphere, with a lovely breeze, was perfect for a retreat. The rooms have a traditional, slightly old-fashioned style, but they are more than enough if you're not looking for luxury. They’re spacious, charming, and comfortable. The food was excellent, and a special mention goes to Ekmek, the resident dog, who is such a sweetheart! Votsala is a perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing getaway.

We stayed in Hotel Votsala for 6 nights and everything was beyond our expectations. It’s a family run hotel and you can feel the warm and welcoming atmosphere since the moment you walk in. We arrived late at night and there was still dinner service so we prefered to eat there and we understood we should try every meal Daphne ”Queen Mother” and her crew prepares. If you encounter the barbecue night, never miss it. The breakfast is a buffet and they make different things like cakes, börek or pastrys everyday in addition to the other sorts. Every meal we had was so delicious and suited our taste. Sarma,fava, musakka, patlıcan salata, kuzu et, pırasalı, ıspanaklı börekler, all sooo good. The beach and the garden is so nice and peaceful so we didn’t have to look for any other beach. The sea on one side is shallow and if you jump from the pier it is deep enough to swim. If you are looking for peace and quiet you should come to this lovely place. I like visiting Greece and it is my third time in this neighbour country, in mainland 2 times and first time on an island. Lesvos is very close to Turkey and this summer so many Turks have been there. We have so many things in common, such as the cuisine, the warm personality… We are so similar and have a history shared together. We feel so close to this culture since our family roots came from these lands. To sum up, Votsala is a hidden paradise in Lesvos and you will never regret to stay there. I hope we will meet again🤍

From the first touchpoint to check-in and check-out, everything at Hotel Votsala was beyond expectations. If you are looking for a vacation where you can listen to the waves and feel the cooling wind under olive trees near the amazing Aegean Sea, this is the place for you. Our room was on the second floor with a beautiful view of the sea and garden. Every morning, we woke up to this amazing view. The traditional homemade Greek breakfast was delicious. They also offer dinners twice a week, which are highly recommended. By not offering all-inclusive dinners every day, they encourage guests to explore the local community and businesses, with tavernas just a 2-minute walk from the hotel. Join the excursions organized by the Hotel Votsala team; they have different events every day, including boat tours, history walking tours, and cooking classes. Hotel Votsala is a family-run business that has been operated by the same family for three generations. It is not a typical mass tourism hotel. Every guest has been there more than once, with some visiting more than 10 times. It feels like a gathering of friends at a quiet, cozy Aegean coast hotel. No loud music, no loud people around—just nature and you. If you are looking for a cozy, family-run place where you can rest, enjoy your breakfast with classical music, and appreciate the beautiful sea and sun, this is the place for you. Daphne, Iannis, and Lina have turned this place into something truly amazing.

Perhaps the only minus is that the accommodation does not have a gradual access to the sea, so it is not suitable for the smallest children. In a way that they can't splash on the beach/and in the sea.

This place is a gem, trust me. We were here before summer vacation for three nights on a bussines trip a we were amazed by the hospitality, real family atmosphere, by the calmness and beauty of this hotel. If you want a peace for your overworked mind, this is the place. Btw wifi is ok, rooms are clean, small and suitable only for sleeping and working, no tv. And oh my, the breakfast with the view on the sea is 10/10.

I love the hotel but if the only purpose is to swim, the beach Just in front of the hotel is not very appropriate. But they guide people to the closer one.

Even though the breakfast wasn't very varied, everything available was delicious and local. The hotel is so immersed in nature that the only sound you'll hear while sleeping is the sound of the wind. Staff was so nice that they take care of their dog and cats When i arrive for the breakfast, since i am afraid of them.

We liked it all. But if you demand proper AC, a swimming pool and a professional bartender at hand to mix you a drink (instead of the gardener who happened to pass by the bar), this is not the place for you.

Very friendly and laid-back place with a nice vibe. Good, long breakfasts by the sea and the occasional barbecue night. A bit like an old backpackers paradise, but for people who have become too lazy or too old to go backpacking.

Air circulation in the rooms can be a bit challenging during the middle of the day without air-conditioning. At night there is a cold breeze though.

Votsala is trying to do tourism differently, and they're doing a great job at it. We really enjoyed the eco-friendly mindset, the several activities they offer and their wonderful breakfast.

The hotel is far from the ferry, transportation is not enough, if you don't have a car, you have to wait for the bus or find a taxi. Bus is not often.

We feel like at home. Everybody behaved friendly and tried to help on any issue. The food was good and the barbeque was excellent. Ekmek 🐶 very friendly 😀

There is no such thing.

This as our fourth visit of Votsala. It is a must for us to go there; the warm comfort of spacious rooms, beautiful beautiful garden, delicious food and the amazing staff.
