The location in the north part of the island is perfect to get by car to Lefkada town in 10 minutes or lovely beaches. The village has 3 tavernas with really good food at ok prices (around 40 euros for two persons for lunch/dinner), two markets, two bakeries and souvenir shop. The villa is sorounded by a lovely garden with olive and lemon trees, where you can chill and stay in the shade. Our room was nice, at ground floor. It was clean, cousy and the cleaning lady came daily to get the garbage and once during our one week stay to replace thevsheets and towels. The airconditioning is working well, but during the night time you don’t need it as the temperature was ok (we were in August). The trick is you can only use one and only with every door and window closed. We recomend that you start visiting the beaches in the west part of the island: all are beautifull. Also you are not crowded, because they are all pretty large and usualyy they have a taverna/bar where you can refresh.

The apartment is not soundproof. If you are not used to sleeping in a louder environment (you can hear your neighbours walking around, making breakfast, using the bathroom, kids playing, etc.), it might be an issue. A pair of earplugs might be a good idea. The Villa's location is not accurate on booking. For an easier arrival search for Villa Maria Tsoukalades in google maps. Or you can call your host and he will give you directions on where to go.

Villa Maria is a great location if you prefer to spend your holiday in a less touristy place. It is close to Lefkada town, only a couple of minutes by car. Also there are pleanty of restaurants, couple of bakeries and a mini market near the villa, in Tsoukalades (you can reach these on foot too). You can park your car near the villa, which was a plus for us. We were greeted by a friendly host, Nikos who showed us around the apartment. He also checked in a couple of times during our stay, making sure we have everything we need. Our apartment was cleaned halfway of our stay. You have a nice view from the patio and a grassy garden you can enjoy when you are not on the beaches.

The WiFi was very weak. I needed it for work and had to use an internet café in Lefkada town after it died completely, which was less than ideal. Niko did his best to improve the situation but the problem seemed to be a weak supply to the property.

Nice quiet location about 3.5 miles from Lefkada town with on-site parking. I was offered a choice of apartments 2 & 3. The one I chose (2) had a very small kitchen with a cooker/hob that did not work properly. Niko was good enough to allow me to move to apartment 3, which was larger, much more comfortable with a much better kitchen and a good-sized terrace balcony.
