Reviews of Veronica Hotel 3 stars

I liked the location of this hotel because it is in a quieter area, but not far from the city of Chania. There was a park near the hotel where it was nice to walk or run. This area also has nice beaches, plenty of restaurants and cafes. The hotel was located on a quieter street. The interior was simple but comfortable, everything needed was there (in addition to a hairdryer, shampoo and shower gel, there was also a kettle, stove and necessary dishes), the room was very clean and the service was very polite. Since I am particularly sensitive to noise, it is important for me that the hotel is quiet at night. This hotel was quiet at night and the air conditioner also worked quietly. Noise of vehicles could be heard from the street, into the room, but fortunately only a few vehicles pass by at night.

Location is good.

Breakfast was very poor considering that this is Crete. Rooms terrible and cockroaches in the rooms...

We stayed in Veronica Suit. It is very lovely and large. You can find everything you need in the house. The beds are comfortable. The villa is located just across the hotel, it has its own garden and entrance. Quiet and peaceful if you like this kind of holidays.

In the evenings the hot water was flowing very thin from the shower. I guess that was because everyone was having a shower after the sea and the pool. In the daytime there was no problem with the hot water.

Lovely location staff where very friendly.

Giorgos and Lela, the bar staff were very friendly funny and helpful. Great internet connection. Good friends were staying. (The only reason that we didn't leave!) 12 mid day check out.

The room, number 22, was below ground and felt like being in a dungeon. There was little natural light. The basement area was like a cave and noise echoed in it whether it was guest noise or staff on our last morning at 07.30! The fixtures and fittings were sparse and tired with draws that didn't open in the wardrobe. The doors and windows didn't keep any noise out and as we were below the road level, vehicle noise and people passing by were quite audible. The pool was fine, however the area is very cramped and the space between the sunbeds and pool side was ridiculous. As mentioned earlier, staff congregating in the area weren't careful in their level of noise but worst of all was the fact that our neighbours toilet actions could be clearly heard both at nighttime and in the morning. It was absolutely unbelievable, like we were in the room with them!! Of course being on the bottom level, the waste pipes ran down through our service conduit and so every time someone used their toilet the waste could be heard running through the pipe. We were waiting to perhaps give feedback as we handed our key back but we didn't get asked how our stay was or in fact anything at all. She took our key, gave us our invoice and turned away! I would like to suggest that the owners stay in room 22 to understand what they are putting their guests through. I have no idea how or why people rate this property so highly however we will never stay again and I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

The location and happy hour

I think the hotel needs a bit of renovating. As it is a little dated.

Location is perfect. Close to the beach, city center, and many shops and restaurants are nearby. Great valute for money. Swimming pool is very nice. Breakfast is good, everybody can find something for themself. Room is ok. Lady at the breakfast is really really Nice Also the cleaning ladies

Room was really ok, but shower is really funny. Tooooooo smaaaaalllll

A lovely little hotel with a nice pool. We really appreciated that there were a lot of shelves and storage in the room. Good water pressure in the shower. The kitchenette had almost everything we needed. Quick and easy check-in and -out.

Given the price, everything was great! The breakfast was okay, but could be improved. The beds were extremely hard. There was no cutting board in the kitchenette.

Fabulous complex - too cool for the pool. Very quiet, feels like a monastery .

This was the best holiday in my life. The mountain view waking me up and the crickets putting me to sleep was like a dreamworld. Far from city noises it is most pleasent place, simply an oasis of serenity. People there are just lovely. Patient and in good spirit, helpful and charming. I fell in love with Greek culture.

Nothing.

I liked shutters on windows. * Separate bedroom. * Spacious apartment. * Shower curtain (some places don't have one) * Receptionist had my broken shower holder replaced same day. *Location.

I didn't like that my room balcony/patio was overlooking busy road that was very impersonal which, also, through the week motorcyclists often used. So was very loud! * No toaster in room. * Images on website gave impression was a functioning restaurant. I asked a male staff member. He pointed to some tables & chairs by the pool, pointed to a menu and told me I pick what I wanted, they order it in! * Could hear every noise in neighbouring apartment. Could hear loud snoring (which literally woke me up) toilet noises and loud conversations. * I regret having to say this, but the male member of staff just didn't seem at all interested! Sadly, he didn't engage in any conversation with residents. I never saw him interact with anyone, residents/children. Never even saw him smile.. Shame really because it goes a long way... As does the opposite!

The bathroom from the apartment was really old and rusty. Toilet was continuously flushing.

From the moment I arrived until my departure, I was impressed by the service and warm hospitality provided by the staff of the hotel. Regarding the room, it was very clean. The hotel was conveniently situated near to sandy beaches with crystal-clear waters and breakfast at Veronica was decent as they provided a satisfactory range of options.

Everythink was clear and staff was nice! I would like to have toaster and microwave Owen.
