We recently stayed in a charming bungalow accommodation and found it to be quiet, pleasant and comfortable. The bungalows are clean and nicely maintained, each featuring a nice private terrace set in a peaceful garden. The space is modest but functional. The layout is flat and easy to navigate, making it very suitable for guests with disabilities or young children. Parking is limited. Staff is friendly and efficacious. Breakfast is simple but enjoyable, with tables outside in the garden area. We did not tested dinner; the buffet was small. Matala beach is close, well equipped, not too crowed at beginning of the season (end May). Water shoes needed.

As already identified multiple time in previous evaluation, there are many stray cats in/ around the hotel, most clearly in need for food and care. The current situation of hungry, unsterilized cats leads to overpopulation and suffering. This is causing distress both to the animals and to guests. The hotel management should organise sterilization and sufficient feeding stations. They are quiet and nice cats; many are/could be domestic ones. It’s heartbreaking. Until hotel management act, if you’re still planning to stay here and if you care about these animals, help: feed them discretely/sign on-line survey to authorities/donate to Creta association/adopt and/or continue lobbying hotel management. Stray cats are everywhere in Creta; I did only see worst in Cyprus with mistreatment and dying cats. Greece is worse than Africa on this topic. Situation in/around Matala is extremely bad, up to cats poisoning by exasperated; I did not find any local stray cats feeding/sterilization charity!

Nice, basic apartment on first floor, with small balcony, in a pleasant location. Room adequate for our one night stay. Rain shower was more of a drizzle, but was ok. Free parking available throughout site. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Nice pool with sun loungers. Breakfast was very good with large selection of hot and cold food. The village is about a 10 minute walk from Matala, so is away from the main busy area.

Only the shower, as mentioned earlier.

The location of the hotel is lovely, and easy to find. The restaurant was ok, nothing really special, a bit of a letdown.

Room airconditioning was not sufficient and the room was too hot! Could not leave the window open as the room faced the front and guests sat out till late at night, talking and laughing loudly. Towels were worn out and not good quality.

Basic but clean hotel on the outskirts of Matala, a leisurely walk into the centre. Friendly team, adequate bedrooms, good breakfast. Drinks and snacks available all day. Overall, a nice, quiet place to stay and good value for money.

Swimming pool could do with a deep clean, and some of the gardens surrounding the property require upkeep - but these are minor issues.

Loved the location out of the noisy part of town but still close enough to walk. Great staff, great rooms and good breakfast. Will definitely stay here again.

Location was convenient, very close to Matala. The room' s bed was very comfortable, the water pressure in the shower was exceptional, I also liked shampoo (there weren't any other toiletries to shower).

Parking was a chalenge, there is ample space but the ground isn't smooth, there is pavement plates here and there and it was difficult the first day that parking was full. Better next day. The room we were given was older, nothing like the pictures we saw when we booked. It is important when the booking is happening, to know how YOUR room will be, so that you can make an informed decision, because eventually our room didn't meet our expectations based on the pictures we have seen. Balcony was very old and didn't have anything to hand swimwear and towels (cleaning personel was very helpful and gave us a rope). Wifi was a joke. Absolutelly terrible, I didn't have a signal and I was forced to use my phone' s data the whole time.

Excellent hotel. The apartment we stayed in was really nice with 2 large bedrooms and a kitchen and living area. We very much liked the yard with the outdoor table and the sunbeds. The hotel pool was also perfect and the breakfast was amazing.

Facilities are perfect, apartment had all that you would need for your stay. Pool was fabulous. Local bus available in the village to save some time walking. Food, drinks, snacks and a selection of books all available if needed.

Lovely bungalow room in a great location. The breakfast was a good addition and staff very welcoming. Matala was a short walk or drive and is the perfect mix of beach, history and relaxed night life. Loved the sunsets, restaurants and evening shopping in the lovely bazaar.
