The description and pre-stay communications indicated the Villa had eight bedrooms, with a ninth area in the living room where a single bed could be set up. However, the eighth "bedroom" is actually a sectioned-off area in the living room, separated by wooden poles and curtains, not a proper bedroom. In my opinion, the Villa has seven bedrooms.

We received a warm welcome at the Villa from the owner, Anna. She was very friendly and provided detailed instructions and information about the Villa, its expectations, and what we could expect from Zakynthos. Anna was happy to answer all our questions. The pool area was amazing—clean and well-maintained. The BBQ area was a real bonus, and we enjoyed lovely evenings cooking, laughing, and spending time together as a family. Anna kindly cleaned the BBQ for us and even provided the charcoal. Thank you, Anna, for being such a great host. We thoroughly enjoyed the Villa and Zakynthos and would recommend it to anyone looking for a great stay.

We did do quite a lot of cooking and feel the villa could use a few more pots, pans and larger bowls/serving dishes.

We loved how much space we had and how private the villa felt. The villa has to be seen to be believed. It is full of character. The pool was lovely and there were great views! The location is handy for local amenities. We could walk within 10 - 15 mins to the local town or in the opposite direction to a cafe/shop, taverna, and a very quiet beach. We hired a car for a day to explore more of the island. A car would be useful but not entirely essential. We were able to order an excellent takeaway from a local restaurant one evening. Very laid back and relaxing villa in a laid back area. Main beachfront has well stocked mini supermarket and convenience stores. Lots of bars and restaurants and souvenir shops but without being too busy or frantic which some people associate with the island. We didn't go out late but it seems there is some nightlife down at the busiest part of the beachfront. Would recommend local place Koukla Beach Club for a swim during the day and dinner/cocktails at night. Remember swim shoes for pebbles in Zakynthos! Anna couldn't be more helpful and welcoming! She was fantastic and the villa was clean and well maintained. Anna was on hand for absolutely anything and worked hard to make sure our stay was stress free and perfect.

We had a perfect week at Vafias Villa. The accommodation is so beautiful and the location is perfect!! Short walk down to the beach and some delicious local restaurants, but far enough away that it is secluded and private. Anna was so helpful, left us fresh eggs and vegetables, and local olive oil, and was always on hand for any questions we had, The owners also went above and beyond and installed a handrail for us! We would recommend this villa to anyone, we had the best time and would love to come back again. Thank you

Nothing it was great

Anna is the most WONDERFUL airbnb owner we have ever come across!!!! She was so helpful and kind the whole trip. She made it more special. She cleaned everyday for us & called us taxis and was a great person. The villa was gorgeous, especially the garden. We had the best time. Thank you Anna!

The villa itself is much more rustic than in the photos. The rooms in the downstairs section feel a bit like an after thought and have no views. One “room” is just a bed in the living room with curtains around it so in the end we shared more beds than expected. Two rooms downstairs have fabric around them as a wall so you can hear a lot if you are a light sleeper. The bathrooms aren’t ideal given many need to be shared. Two of the bathrooms that were shared had hand held shower heads only. While the owner Anna could be very helpful, she was in the villa a lot during our stay whereas we would’ve preferred more privacy. Overall the villa as a whole looks a bit different from the photos online. A good thing to note for the outside area is that there are a lot of mosquitoes which makes sitting outside or having doors or windows without screens to open difficult. Anna gave us some mosquito coils to light which was helpful.

The villa can fit a large number of people and has a beautiful pool area and view from the upstairs bedrooms. The two upstairs bedrooms are nice. The owner Anna was willing to help with any questions or concerns. She let us have a late check out which was appreciated. You can walk to some nice restaurants from the villa (wouldn’t recommend at night as there is no light on the streets). Taxi rides everywhere were 30 euros which for our group was fine.
