How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewLoved this hotel. Very clean and comfortable room with private terrace overlooking pool and beach. Pool area was lovely. Breakfast was really good. But the best thing about this hotel is the super friendly staff who do everything they can to help you. Tina and Sonya were amazing. Our flight was late evening and for a small fee we were allowed to stay in our room until departure time. Would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back

Verified reviewWe only stayed for one night, arriving in the evening and needing to catch our flight early in the morning (gates closed at 9:40). The staff were amazing – even though breakfast usually starts at 8:00, the receptionist kindly prepared a special breakfast set for us the night before and stored it in the fridge, so we could eat before our journey. The pool was beautiful, the room was very clean with a large balcony and an incredible view of the sunrise. If we come back to Santorini and Kamari, this hotel will definitely be our first choice.

Verified reviewExcellent value for money. They accommodated us with early check in as we travelled extremely early by boat and were very grateful. Anything they can do for you is never a problem. Tina was an amazing host! The breakfast was excellent. The best I've had in a B and B in Greece! Will be back for longer next time!

The Air con in our first room was very poor.

Verified reviewVery good, great location: Many restaurants, bars, and souvenir shops nearby. Bus stations as well as Fira and Oia are easily accessible. The sea is beautiful but quite rocky. Towels are provided, which saves space when traveling. The staff are very patient and friendly. The pool area has long opening hours, which is very convenient. Breakfast is excellent – every day there is a new warm option. They really take care of guests and are accommodating. The room is very comfortable with cozy beds and enough storage space. The only downside is that the lighting is a bit dim. The neighborhood feels safe and trustworthy.

Verified reviewProperty was lovely, we was well happy, we had inter connecting rooms, Diane was so helpful and arranged a taxi to see the sights and booked a restaurant to view sunset, the staff where so lovely and made you feel comfortable, we needed more clothes hangers we received them straight away, could not do enough for us, recommend getting up to see sunrise, me and my friends would definitely rebook this hotel.

Verified reviewI want to thank all The staff of the boathouse hotel for their kindness and hospitality. It was my first trip on my own and i didn’t feel lonely thanks to their warmness. pool and backyard are very beautiful. The breakfast is delicious. I recommend to attend the sunrises which is in front of the hotel by the sea, It’s worth the early alarm.

Pool bar music too noisy and unsuitable. As far as we can see most people around the pool and bar were mature people. Loud rap type music was not appropriate in our opinion. Relaxing music would be better.

The breakfast wasn't good at all the room was old and bed wasn't comfortable at all
We are sorry you felt this way but we do understand as this was a last minute 2 night booking for 2 adults and 3 babies (2 one yr olds and 1 two year old) in a room that was not appropriate for this size of family. Unfortunately we did not have a larger accommodation available for you or more babycots at the last moment. We hope you have booked a more appropriate accommodation on Naxos and that your holidays improve.

There was nothing I didn't like. Others might dislike the closeness of Kamari to the airport - you can see and hear the planes coming in. Did not bother us. The hotel does not have TVs - a bliss for a relaxed vacation if you ask me.
