Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyOccasionally the toilet in our room smelt which i imagine is to do with drainage. At Milatos access into the sea for swimming is a bit limited. Easy from the local beach but elsewhere possible but preferably with beach shoes because very rocky and with some sea urchins. Not easy for children.
Breakfast included was a real highlight and set us up for a great start. The apartment was spacious and clean with a large terrace. Milatos is very quiet and great for families, exactly what we were looking for. Food was always of a high standard. The owner helpfully arranged the airport taxi for our return.

BelgiumThe air-conditioning needs fixing.
The location is top notch. A small pittoresk Greek village, lots of great restaurants nearby. Cross the street and you can swim in the ocean. The apartment has everything to spend a nice family vacation away from the crowds. Very good value for money.

The apartment is beautiful. It is big enough, you can cook if you want to. There is airconditioning in the bedroom, which is handy. I could walk to the beach in two minutes. Next to the apartment, the owners have a restaurant where they also serve breakfast. You get a big assortment for breakfast. The food is delicious! There are other taverns, but I think that the restaurant next to Villa Thalia is the best. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They helped me to rent a car. The village is remote, so if you want to visit other places you need to rent a car. To me, this was NOT a negative, I purposefully chose a more remote location to relax. This is just something you should be aware of.

South AfricaThe furniture and decor was a little old fashioned.
Location! Location! Location! Our unit was facing the little port and with two patios, we had a wonderful sea view. The place was pristinely clean and spacious. Restaurants were within walking distance. We would recommend the accommodation and the town to anyone looking for a quieter, more authentic stay in Crete.

The Apartment is located in small village which is quiet and relaxing. Guests can directly cross the street , swim in harbour which is no wave. There are also 6 seafood restaurants in the village. The host family are nice and friendly. They offer a bottle water for us everyday. The 3 courses dinner were tasty. I like the pork which is cooked in oven a couple hours, very soft, tender and juicy. Thank host gave us one apartment with harbour view. Thank host their hospitality. WIFI is stable and quick. We like to come back if we visit Crete again.

GreeceThe room floor could be cleaner. No window had net for mosquitos. The air conditioning in the bedroom is not sufficient for the whole apartment.
A few meters away from a decent beach, easy parking just outside, close to taverns and walking distance to the centre of the village (mini-market etc). The room was spacious and there was a nice balcony. Well equipped kitchen even though a bit old.

RomaniaSome times the water pressure might be lower, but it is enough to get a shower.
Big and nice apartment. Nice sea view from the balcony. Comfortable beds. Just few meters from the sea. Preferred Potamos beach, 20m by car. Kindly stuff willing to help you to have a pleasant experience. There are some good fish taverna near by. Recommend Nicholas, En Milato for traditional Cretan cuisine.

Hungary-
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Villa Thália in Crete! From the moment we arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a stunning view of the sea. The villa itself was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities one could ask for. The private pool was a highlight, offering a refreshing dip with a backdrop of breathtaking sunsets. The location was perfect, nestled in a peaceful and picturesque village yet still conveniently close to the vibrant towns and beaches of Crete. The local cuisine was a delight to savor, and the recommendations from the villa staff added an extra layer of authenticity to my culinary experience. What truly made this stay exceptional, though, was the exceptional service provided by the Villa Thália team. They went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and enjoyment throughout our stay, from arranging excursions to providing insider tips on exploring the island. Their dedication to making our vacation unforgettable was evident in every detail.

The owners are a very nice family who treat their guests with a lot of care and generosity. We really felt being welcome and well received through small acts of kindness. The facilities are nice and the restaurant of the owners has amazing food at very good prices. The rooms are quite spacious, the terrace is nice.
