LatviaOur room was on the ground floor with a terrace and a patio door with access to the main street where people go to the sea and the restaurant, the layout of the room is not good and people can see the bed from the street, so you have to keep the curtains closed and this reduces the light access to the room.

Austria- Room was lighted only through the terrace door and is quite dark (though lighting is very good). This can also be an advantage having in mind the hot weather. - Terrace is quite close to the main alley and you do not really have a privacy when sitting out. - Breakfast is quite copious and food is of very good quality but, as it is served in the restaurant it is always the same and becomes quite boring with time. - Walls are quite thin and you may have some noise issues if you have noisy neighbors (we managed quite well) - On the first day on the beach we were informed that we have to pay 10 EUR for the umbrella and chairs by the restaurant staff. We complained to Sofia and this was solved but make sure you are clear on whether this is included.

Sofia is very helpful and will help you organize everything necessary for a good stay. - Very close to beach - which is great and the sea is excellent - Very close to main street and all its attractions but in the same time away from its noise. We had a good sleep. - Room is well thought of and air conditioning works great

United StatesWe had an amazing stay at Sonio Beach. All of the staff at the hotel and restaurant were friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was some of the best we had during our visit to Crete. Our room was spacious and very clean. The location cannot be beat. The beach was steps away from our room and we could walk to all the wonderful shops and tavernas in Platanias. Stay here - you will not be disappointed.

At the restaurant food was delicious 😋 Everything was so close. I also recommend Destination Platanias in case you need a transfer to/from the airport.

Sonio Beach is a piece of paradise. A lovely family owned and run hotel. Spotlessly clean, perfect location, excellent restaurant and everything you need for a quiet, relaxing break right in the heart of busy Platanias.

EVERYTHING!!! The room was spotless, I am very picky and I loved coming back after a hard day on the beach, to a beautiful room. The staff, particularly Sofia, the manager, are so friendly, they make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The pool, the beach and the restaurant are all excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel, it made our stay in Chania all the more special. If I return to Chania, which I hope I do, I will definitely stay at this hotel. I really can’t say enough, I travel often, and I can say this is one of the best places I have ever stayed because of the staff, the location and the beautiful room.💜💜💜
