Walking to Chora is uphill and challenging. Breakfast was decent, but could be improved with some local traditional products and more variety. Prices could be slightly lower, though this seems to be a general trend across the Greek islands.

Family-run hotel with a breathtaking view of Ios. Our room was renovated, clean and comfortable, with daily housekeeping. Just 2 minutes by car from Chora.

I would highly recommend Skala hotel. The staff were super amazing. The hotel offered a transportation from the port which was cheap and super easy. The pool was incredible with a wonderful view of ios. Really short walk into town which made it super easy to get around. Rooms were clean and well sized. My friends and I really enjoyed our time at Skala.

Big hill to walk up to get back up from town.

Super lovely people running it. Pick u up from the port for cheap and drop u off. Breakfast was always stocked. Room was nice for what we needed.

Overall, everything was very good. We experienced some noise one night which made it difficult to sleep, but we reported it to the reception the next morning and the staff promptly checked and resolved the issue

The location was excellent, right above Chora with a stunning view. We changed rooms twice and both of them were cute and clean. The staff was very kind, and we used their transfer service - they picked us up from the port. They’ve also suggested us a very good and convenient scooter rent

Steep hill up to the hotel but worth it for the views!

Amazing views from balcony and gorgeous room/bathroom. Great location - short walk to the town and not far from the beach. Staff responded quickly to our questions. Fantastic transfer service from the ferry port.

AC didnt work as it should, rooms have certain smell, but i would go there anyway. I strongly suggest!!!!

It has an AMAZING view, it is very close up to the city (5 min walk downhill), very nice staff, they let us drop the baggage at 8 am and we could sleep at the pool until our room was ready for us (also they managed to get us room at 11am). Breakfast was delicious and filling, definitiely worth it after a night out.

As it is on the edge of Ios Chora, the walk to the hotel is quite steep uphill for a really short distance but the breathtaking view and the sunset really compensate for that.

Skala Hotel is an ideal place to stay in Ios and would definitely come back. The staff were really friendly and helpful with everything needed and answered any queries we had regarding exploiting the island. The hotel has one of the best views ever, gazing at Ios Chora, the sea and the windmills ,whether you are at your room, the breakfast area or the pool area. The pool area is really nice, with magnificent view (of the sunset off course) and service for drinks or even something to eat. We were a group of 4 friends and stayed in a quadruple room with felt comfortable and was really clean throughout the stay. The breakfast was tasty and had a variety of options which altered day by day. The hotel is located just on the edge of Ios Chora where all the life of the Island is. Moreover, from Ios Chora you can take buses to the whole island (eg Magganari beach-definitely highly recommended-, Agia Theodoti, Koumpara/Pathos Club, Mylopotas , the Port etc). Really close to the hotel you can also find Odysseas Elytis Amphitheater with breathtaking view of Mylopotas and the new Gaitis-Simossi museum of modern art which is definitely worth visiting. Mylopotas and the port/livadi beach are at walking distance from the hotel (we did it) but perhaps the bus is worth taking on the way back as it is uphill. A transfer service from and to the port was arranged for us (for a minor extra cost- definitely worth it) which I would recommend 100% as taking the bus would mean you will need to walk a bit uphill with luggages which is not ideal and also buses do not run in the early morning or late at night when many ferries arrive/leave. (And the bus is not cheaper either). Would definitely recommend this hotel and I would come back due to all the conveniences described above and the fact that is was really value for money.

It was all great but I would recommend getting a lift if you have arrived by ferry. It’s ‘only’ a 30 minute walk but it’s all uphill. Owners offer a very reasonable pick-up, make the most of it!

The staff was incredibly lovely. The view was fantastic and has a peacefulness to it. Do not let the distance from the center scare you, it is worth it. They offer a shuttle service (we didnt take it) but the walk really wasnt bad. Would certainly go back!

The hill is steep all the way from the port to the hotel but that is what gives the place so much character and charm. It's a beautiful location.

The view is spectacular! A peaceful setting overlooking the town. Our room was clean and had everything we expected. Breakfast was great with lots of choices, even for us vegetarians. Make sure to arrange for their ferry port pickup!

It is on top of a hill ( which is great for the views ) but in my opinion you need a car to get to places .This for us was absolute no problem and certainly did not do anything to spoil our stay .

The views from this hotel is absolutely magnificent , it is a very lovely hotel with rooms /apartments laid out in a traditional style .I would highly recommend this hotel and we would not hesitate to return.

Swimming pool could open before breakfast. Big hill to get to property so think about a scooter or hire car if you’re staying here. 20 min walk into town but it’s all uphill on the way back !!! Ok if you have young legs though.

Good location lift from port to accommodation. Friendly staff nice pool lovely breakfast breathtaking views day and night.
