How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewI don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt compelled to this time. While the property is in a great location—right at the top of Oia—it’s definitely not worth the price. 1. Misleading sunset view – The listing highlights a sunset view, but the windmill completely blocks the sun, making this quite misleading. 2. Worn-out facilities – The toilet seat was held together with glue and couldn’t stay in place. Drawer knobs were missing, and all the kitchen appliances were old, dirty, and basically unusable. 3. Poor air conditioning and cramped bathroom – There’s only one AC unit in the front room, leaving the back room hot and uncomfortable. The bathroom is very small, with just a handheld showerhead. 4. Transfer issue – We booked an airport transfer, but ended up having to pick up another family along the way, which wasn’t communicated to us in advance. That was frustrating, especially with an early flight. Overall, this stay did not live up to expectations, and we felt it was not worth the cost.

Verified reviewGreat location in a unique cave. It was very special looking out to the windmill when we had our breakfast and being right in the heart of Oia. The communication from the host was superb and they were very helpful sorting out a taxi for us. Thank you
The lighting wasnt great. We didnt have running water for 1 day

Verified reviewThe location was amazing. You get your own terrace and the sunset view is among the best in Oia. Also Boggi our host was very friendly and consistently checked in on us to ensure we were as comfortable as possible. The kitchen was very convenient and the mini market next door made everything very easy for snacks, water, and ice cream after a long day of exploring.
The bathroom was very small and shower was only a handheld with no stand or fixed showerhead.

Verified reviewThe location was Perfect! facing the windmills and sunset and just far enough from the main square not to be swamped with tourist when the cruise ship passengers arrived.
The interior of the house felt a little tired and scruffy, it is in need of a fresh coat of paint and some personality bringing into the house from artwork/décor. The outside space is a real bonus, however an awning would have been beneficial during the hottest part of the day.

Verified reviewOur host Bogey went above and beyond. He can set you up with any restaurant that you would like to eat at. Any trips that you want to take? He’s your guy to help you. The view from the deck was really great at sunset.
I’m There is only one a/c for the whole unit. If you close the bedroom door you get no air. To get to the second bedroom, you have to go through the first bedroom. There was no privacy. The back bedroom was like a dungeon when you shut the door. You could not open any windows. You had to request a staff member to bring something to open them because of their height. The whole unit had ants everywhere. Our host was amazing. Every time we called about the ant issue, he sent staff numerous times to try and eliminate the infestation with no luck. Ants ended up on the kitchen table, in front one of the beds and in luggage which created a nightmare for us. The beds are very hard. The living room furniture was dirty. We covered it with extra sheets to sit on it. The shower is a hand held set at your waist height. Our cost to stay here was like a slap in the face.

It is a classic Santorini's house with the basic amenities and for this reason it is offered at this extremely price. Verified reviewManager was very helpful, internet was good, location was good, and the view from the patio/deck was very nice (ignoring the ATM).
The beds were uncomfortable, but the real disappointment had nothing to do with the property. Santorini has become inundated with tourist from the cruise ships. It is extremely difficult to walk around with the crowds. It was not nearly this crowded the past two time I went. While still incredibly beautiful, I am not sure I would go again.

Booking.com showed few facilities which where not there. Example Washing machine was not there. When enquired, the management of property told that they are not aware of what booking.com was showing in the site.
