We stayed at the hotel for three nights and it was absolutely dreamy. The staff was amazing!! They upgraded our room to make it more comfortable for the pregnancy and were responsive to everything we needed. The food at the restaurants was excellent, and the hotel itself is perfect! Incredible value for the price — a must-visit!

Lovely room with a fantastic view over the bay, very comfortable bed, lovely shower (small), tea & coffee facilities. A stones throw from the beach. The pool was lovely & clean. All the staff are lovely and friendly.

For me what changes a hotel from good to great is the details and design. Our room was quite small, the bathroom was incredibly dark, with both lights on I could barely see - difficult for removing contact lenses at night! We were given 2 hair conditioners and 2 body lotions but no shampoo and these were never replenished over our 4 night stay. we were by both restaurants and our balcony was on the corner so as people drove in and out of the hotel we felt overlooked as a result we didn’t really use it. There is a sign in reception telling guests what’s on but it’s not accurate and the reception staff, though friendly, didn’t know what was happening either when asked.

The hotel is lovely - I honestly don’t think Ive ever stayed anywhere as spotlessly clean, the facilities are great, pool is beautiful as is the small beach and staff are friendly and welcoming. The hotel is extremely steep but a series of lifts and golf carts mean you don’t really have to do any walking and there was complimentary wine and water on our first night. Breakfast buffet was wide ranging and tasty. Drinks and food by the beach were lovely, it’s expensive but that’s expected for a hotel like this.

They charge for everything in the room including the coffee capsules! I think it would be fair to give one bottle of water a day. The property is on a hill so you either have to take a lot of stairs or call for the golf cart to drive you. This is not necessarily a bad thing but something to be aware of.

The property had beautiful sea views and a great pool and beach. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was nice. There’s a choice of multiple restaurants too.

The pool was a bit cold. In some parts of the room the ceiling is low (if you are over 1.9m it might not be comfortable). It's only in certain rooms.

Steep site, golf buggy service available but for short trips to reception, beach, pool or breakfast, exercise involved. lots of steps and you needed to keep alert. A shuttle bus to Elounda centre would have been nice.

Room was excellent and views wonderful. Breakfast selection and quality 1st class. All sraff friendly and helpfull. Wifi coverage superb.

Didn't like music by the pool. We felt it unnecessary. A couple of the breakfast young girls serving were sullen and looked as if they hated their job. Hard to imagine why as the managers were so lovely and what a setting to work in!

Unfortunately, there are some problems, also reported by other tourists, such as the lack of daily supply of water and coffee free of charge, as it usually happens in lower rated hotels. But what really disturbed us was the quality of the services at the Spa, where none of the 2 massages were performed according to the specific requirements (both employees seem to be amateurs, without studies in this regard. They turned 2 massages, one Cretan deep tissue and the other anti-cellulite, into relaxation massages). It is always frustrating to be charged with above average prices for very poor quality services. Apart from this, we would add the breakfast staff, with an unfriendly attitude, which does not honour either the host country or a 5-stars hotel. Also, a 5 stars hotel is supposed to offer a good insulation of the rooms...it was not the case, as we could not sleep because of the noise caused by the water pressure in the pipes in the neighbouring room while our neighbours were taking a 45 minutes shower late in the night. At a moment, we thought they were taking the shower in our bathroom. Regarding the beach area we can mention the smell of petrol and the damaged beach umbrellas. We should not forget that this hotel is ranked as a 5 stars one.

During the 4 days spent, we particularly appreciated the comfort and cleanliness of the room (spacious room and terrace), the location of the hotel, which provides a great view, the services and food at the Poseidon restaurant and those on the beach. In general, the staff is kind and willing to show their availability. Icaros beach taverna is a good place to enjoy lunch.

Room no 51 was not suitable for staying due to a very intense musty smell. Hopefully, this issue will be resolved. Thankfully, the hotel's staff acted immediately after our complaint and we were relocated instantly.

Excellent location. Amazing sea views and very nice and quiet (and well attended) pool and beach area. Absolutely perfect bed. Very kind and helpful staff, including front desk manager, receptionists, pool bar room service and restaurant waiters, room maintenance, porters ...trully a 5-star service. Great breakfast at Athena main restaurant and dinner at Poseidon Restaurant.

We found the food quality at hotel restaurant Samurai a little disappointing given the price point. But the staff and service at the restaurant were truly exceptional. Some of the umbrellas in the beach area a little shabby.

Excellent pool! Infinity pool overlooking an ocean is the best view you’ll ever have. Even in high season it was easy to secure 2 pool loungers. Every single member of staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very high standards of cleanliness everywhere. Room was very comfortable and clean. Air con was good quality and easy to control. Food provided (breakfast buffet, room service and food provided in the beach area) was all very good quality and delicious. We loved the private beach area. Again, the staff were great, and we also appreciated the quality of towels and the DJ playing music throughout the day.
