Nothing - it was perfect!

Petani Resort is by far the best place we have ever stayed! The staff went above and beyond constantly, nothing was ever too much trouble and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We were given recommendations of places to go, ideas for each day including where was best to go at different times of the day due to the heat etc. From the minute we arrived, it was perfect. We were shown around the beautiful property, told everything we needed to know and the views were stunning! The whole property was immaculate, everything was so clean and the rooms were made up so well each day. We had an early check out on our last day as we had to get to our flight and the staff went over and above and made us food to take with us as we were missing breakfast! Honestly, the staff at Petani Resort are some of the friendliest, kindest people we have met on our travels. We could not recommend it more! The sunsets were beautiful, the location was amazing and we were so upset to be heading home. It really felt like a home away from home!

We did experience an issue with the Wi-Fi in our room—it didn’t work properly inside, though it was fine on the terrace. This wasn’t a major problem for us, as we were hoping to disconnect and relax, but it’s something other guests might find inconvenient. The property is also a bit further from many of Kefalonia’s main attractions, such as Myrtos Beach, Fiscardo, Asos, and Melissani Cave—most required a 30–60 minute drive each way. Driving on Kefalonia’s mountainous roads can be challenging. For guests who don’t mind driving, this may not be an issue, but for those who prefer to stay close to the accommodation with easy access to multiple beaches, another location might be more convenient.

The accommodation was wonderful—perfectly clean with amazing views. (Although there is some construction of new buildings nearby that partially blocks the view, this is beyond the resort’s control.) The pool is fantastic, though a small drawback is that it is only available until 19:30. The highlight, however, was the staff—they were exceptionally friendly and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast was very nice as well. Also the place is really quiet even tought the road is right below the property.

It was very windy area on top of the mountains. The breakfast was low average and very basic, eating the same things every day.

We totally loved the island. The only point to keep in mind is driving. Kefalonia is large, roads are winding (but really beautiful), and it takes time to go to beaches, villages, sight-seeings and tavernas. As a driver, one needs to be careful and tireless. But the result overcompensates the effort!!! Amazing island, experience and people.

We loved the area and location of Petani Resort. The facility is family-run and Yiannis and Margarita were both warm, helpful and very professional. Very good breakfast to start the day, very clean and comfortable rooms and beds. All in all, a very relaxing holiday. The view is breathtaking. Huge thanks to our hosts!!!

We were a family of 3 (2 adults and a 12 years old teenage) and had the triple room. The room was clean and spacious. The bed are large and comfy even if the mattresses were a bit too soft for our tastes. The amenities were just perfect. We liked a lot it was quiet and a serene atmosphere. The pool was great and we enjoyed it a lot. The staff was very pleasant, Iani gave us a lot of information. The breakfast was very good.

Literally the only negative is it’s fairly remote. There is a restaurant 2 minutes away other than that it’s 10-15 min drive. But don’t let this put you all.

I cannot fault the property.. only 9/10 rooms which meant the pool area was quite most the time! At most 3 other rooms were at the pool the same time as us! Owner & all the staff are so friendly nothing was too much problem for them. If you’re considering this hotel just book it. It’s probably my favourite hotel I’ve stayed at for a summer holiday. Sunsets are incredible from your door step.

It wasn't something to mention. It would be helpful to have protection at windows for insects, but other than that, we didn't miss anything.

The driveway is very steep and takes a bit of navigating the first time. There are not 9 spaces on the flat area next to the hotel for the 9 rooms so several have to park on the steep slope.

Excellent choice at breakfast. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels. Pool area clean and water warm with very comfy sun beds.

Petani Resort is an amazing spot for a quiet beach getaway at a great price. The resort is small, so even at full capacity, it always felt quiet and low-key. We had wonderful sweeping views from our spacious, ground-floor balcony, and from the lovely poolside. The pool is large, modern and pristine with spacious surrounds and plenty of comfortable loungers, and the rest of the facilities, which were generally modern, well-maintained and spotless too. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. Petani is on the quieter side of the island (about an hour drive from the airport), which is great if you're looking to avoid the crowds, but there's several gorgeous beaches nearby, including Petani itself, which is beautiful and has a couple of good tavernas serving good coffee and food. Despite being on the quiet side of the island, there's 4-5 tavernas within a few minutes' drive of the resort (including one just a couple of hundred metres away). Petani is rare in that it has good cooking facilities and fridges in the rooms, so we ended up eating in a lot. There's also a cafe / deli serving good espresso coffee and local cheeses / olives etc. a few minutes' drive down the hill. Highly recommended all round.

Frankly we liked everything about this wonderful boutique property. Perfect for relaxation around a spotless pool after a long days driving and great location to visit Petani beach and the west of Kefalonia. We only booked for one night as we were touring, but were treated like we’d booked for a month. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and a good variety of bar meal food available on the menu as well, we chose to eat in that evening and enjoyed great service and food. Watching the sunset with a drink and free bar snacks was wonderful. This in our opinion, is an outstanding property with wonderful friendly hosts and great service in an outstanding location.

The location has very bad cellular signal and our room hadn’t at all. Because of that you are dependent on Wi-Fi which at pick time (19:00 - 24:00) had disconnections every few seconds.

Very friendly staff, especially the girl at breakfast was very helpful with perfect recommendations about kefalonia, at a very nice and peaceful location. Very clean room and with a very nice breakfast.

Location - you definitely will need a car as it is somewhat remote. There is one taverna within a walking distance (approx 3 minutes) though. Breakfast - filter coffee was provided (almost tasteless). I had to buy coffee from the bar every morning. This is not an issue if you're not a coffee lover obviously.
