How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We liked very much staying in Paradise Matala Hotel! The staff is very nice, the whole structure is very clean, with also a beautiful garden and swimming-pool. Our bedroom on the 2nd floor was very pretty, very clean and comfortable and it had a wonderful view on the mountains, you are surrounded by mountains. Breakfast is plentiful, very good, with savory and sweet dishes with a lot of variety. The hotel is about 10 minuts walking from Matala centre and the beach/sea, so it’s very quite and peaceful. Thank you for everything! We highly recommend it and we’ll come back there for sure! ❤️🙏

It was great value for money; there was nothing to complain about.
Simple but clean room, good and quiet location a little outside of main area of Matala. Highlight was the owner's dog that was guarding and greeting guests! Nice balcony with area to hang wet swimming suits and towels.

The bathroom was just a bit small and the door to it was a bit squeaky and did not fully close, which is not a big deal though.
Lots of parking right near the hotel - great if you are renting a car. Location is perfect - it's within 5-7 minutes of walking to the Matala center, but it's just far enough to be in a bit more quiet area (some other parts of Matala are way more noisy due to restaurants, clubs, etc). So the rest was super enjoyable. The breakfast was very nice and cheap, enjoyed it as well. The room itself is small but comfy, nothing to write home about but gets the job done (it's not like I've stayed in the room too much). Beds were good, all the necessities were also there.

Breakfast was ok, but perhaps focus a bit more in food actually cooked than cold cuts and cakes. But, this is pretty standard in Greece. Anyway I got my boiled eggs and Greek youghurt so I am fine!
Matala, well worth a visit! The hotel is located, 10 min walk from the beach and village center, a clear advantage. You don't need to live in the middle of everything. Hotel is nice, very clean with a great pool area. Staff super nice and caring. We are happy to return again!

The gentleman on the desk wasn’t very helpful when we asked about staying an extra night but this could have been due to a language thing .
The location was ideal , 3mins walk to village centre , hotel very nice , slightly dated rooms but all facilities we needed. .

Everything was fine. It was good value for the money and just far enough away from the noise of Matala. We stayed in a family room, very large, great shower.
The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast available if needed. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room with kettle. Very comfortable bed. A very short walk to the centre, about 7 minutes .

Be good if some normal chairs round the pool area
Great location really near the centre and beach but a very quiet road with little traffic Great pool and the breakfast looked good even though we had not booked in for it

Quiet and out of the busy tourist area. Close to beach and restaurants and shops. Very friendly staff and beautiful gardens and pool- really a very nice paradise. The owner's German Shepherd is adorable too!

The fridge was noisy, but we just turned it off, so no big deal really.
Perfect location a bit out of town, the pool area looked great, we couldn't use the pool due to refilling after a sandstorm but had a great wind free bask in the sun. The room was comfortable and clean, aircon and parking onsite.

Booked this property quite last minute and it was a great choice for a short stay. Always great to return to Matala and get the chance to spend a night there. The room was spacious and clean. We also had breakfast included which was great for the price. The main beach is a slow 10 minute walk away.

All was great thank you!
Loved the breakfast and value for money! Bed was lovely and big with many pillows and availablity for extra blankets. Air conditioning was used and worked well. Breakfast was amazing with plenty of choice from hot dishes to savoury cold and sweets. Coffee machine and juice machine. I was very impressed. Beds were comfortable and I even got a balcony. Slept wonderfully. And the reception doggy looks intimidating but actually is a big softie that just wants you to chuck a ball for him.

This is more constructive than a complaint A toaster at breakfast would be nice The hot choices were always closer to cold than hot But lots of other fresh choices
