Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PolandThe hotel is very well-maintained and full of character, with an excellent location in the center of Chania – the perfect place for exploring the port and historical sights. The breakfast was perfect, made entirely from fresh products. I highly recommend the staff – very helpful – as well as the step-by-step assistance with the accommodation.

United KingdomA small amount of noise as one resident came in the main door later at night as our room was right next to it but it didn’t wake us / I was just aware of a little door closing.
Very comfortable

FinlandThe cons for us were really things the hotel can't influence, but travelers should note in planning. Nothing bad to say about the hotel itself! :) - Location. Parking was absolutely awful, it took me an hour and a half to find somewhere to park. I had seen from other reviews it could be bad but most of the time okay. We came on a Saturday night... I do not recommend doing that. The next morning closer parking spots were available. However, by then we had realized we had accidentally parked illegally the night before following what we thought the locals were doing. The police had taken the plates from our rental car. So we had to pay 150e at the post office.. then waited 3 hours at the police station to get our plates back. Moral of the story, either don't rent a car in old town chania, or don't get there on a Saturday night. -Location cont.: If you get a close spot you will still have to drag your bags through old town as well as up some steep stairs. So keep this in mind while packing :)
Location pluses: It was very nice to be in the middle of the city. The area was beautiful. It felt a little bit of like a home away from home. The breakfast was delicious, we even had an early breakfast basket the day we left for the airport and it was quite delicious! Yogurt with honey and homemade granola with lots of fruit! The granola is a must try. Really nice staff, very helpful in whatever you might need. Even helped us with our parking ticket!

United StatesLoved everything.
The staff took very good care of us. They were genuinely interested in helping us with our itinerary and definitely went above and beyond to make our stay special. For example, they packed us a picnic basket breakfast when we were getting up earlier than the allotted breakfast time.

United KingdomLiterally the only thing I could suggest is that they put some fans in their courtyard where they serve breakfast. It's beautiful and lush but also a sun trap and enclosed so doesn't get any breeze etc.
Lovely small hotel at the end of the harbour (near the marine museum) a few seconds from the restaurants.and bars but tucked back from the busy nightlife enough to be quiet all the time.

New ZealandOur room was a bit smaller, but it still worked. One wee issue in that the shower didn't drain quickly which saw a bit of a flood the first morning. Just to be aware of.
We loved Hotel Off and the staff. They were excellent and couldn't do enough for us. So helpful. A real bonus was the minibar being free and refilled daily. The courtyard for breakfast was beautiful as was the homemade treats provided to start the day. Loved this place.

United KingdomNothing, only wish we could have stayed longer!
We stayed for 1 night at this lovely hotel right in the old town of Chania. The room for 3 people was large, with a nice bathroom and toiletries provided and breakfast included which was delicious! Lots of different things to choose from and ate outside in the pretty courtyard. The staff were helpful and friendly and stored our luggage whilst we explored the city the following morning. We had a wonderful stay and would love to return for longer next time!
