The breakfast was lovely but the wasps spoilt what would have been a relaxing start to each day. This was early Sept. The owners did their best to put wasp traps out near each table, but the wasps were wise to them and we had 20+ on our food and buzzing around our heads outside and inside!

Friendly, family run hotel. Situated in a quiet position on the hill above the Marina Bay Hotel. We listened to the sound of the waves on Mounda beach at night, and sat on the hotel terrace or our own balcony with a glass of wine as the sun set.

The hotel is welcoming, clean, and close to a beautiful and calm beach. Ideal for families with children or for those seeking tranquility and relaxation. The hosts made our stay perfect with their kindness and availability. The cuisine is truly excellent; we loved the Greek specialties! Our only complaint was that the bed mattresses were very worn out for the master bedroom and too hard for the kids and during our stay our room TV didn’t work at all.

We really appreciated how helpful and friendly the staff were. It was a very clean place and great breakfast. Very close to a beautiful fine sand beach but also close to Skala and Polos.

Er, the tea cups in the room are tiny for a tea-addict like me. There was genuinely nothing that I didn't like! All of Kefalonia is either up or downhill, unless you are going along the beaches, so it is probably not suitable if you struggle with steep slopes.

Mounda Beach Hotel is a small, welcoming and friendly hotel, two minutes walk from a beautiful, sandy beach. The hotel is set up the hill from the beach , so you get beautiful views over the bay, mountains and over the sea to Zakynthos while you are eating meals on the terrace. All of the staff make you feel so welcome, and the food was fantastic. I had breakfast and evening meals at the hotel. Breakfast included fresh and dried fruit, nuts, Greek yoghurt, fresh bread, butter, jam, choice of juices, coffee and/or tea, cakes and pastries. I think you can ask for hot items such as eggs as well, but the Continental was plenty for me! I am a vegetarian, so I normally end up eating two or three meals or side orders, but here the food was stunning and I had something different every night, pasta dishes, salads, saganaki, they even made two specials which were veggie, briam and roasted peppers, they really can't do enough for you here. All of the food was fresh, tasty and just what you need after a day exploring or on the beach. The room was very comfortable, with a massive bed and really good pillows, I slept like a log, especially as you can hear the sea through the window. There is a fridge, kettle, kitchen sink and sideboard, so you can make snacks and hot drinks. The bathroom was basic but spotlessly clean and with everything you need. Shower worked well and there was always hot water. Housekeeping do an amazing job and I had fresh towels and bedding every day. I have seen other reviews on this room (garden view room) saying it is dark, but it does have a window, an outside seating area, there are load of lights all over the room, and the dark keeps it blissfully cool. I only had to use the air con a couple of times, just to cut the humidity after a shower, but you don't need to leave it on all night and wake up mega thirsty! I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I return to Kefalonia, highly recommend for a perfect, relaxing holiday.

We just got back from an 11 day stay and already want to go back! It was such a lovely, peaceful, friendly place to stay, and the food was delicious. The hotel provided airport transfers and car hire at a reasonable cost which made things so easy. Thank you Alex and Co, for looking after us so well. X

Unfortunately the first room they put us in wasn't as we had expected. We asked to change which was no problem, so we moved as soon as another room became available

Great traditional breakfast of ham and cheese. Greek yogurt, dried fruit, nuts, jam and honey plus fresh fruit and bread . Plus traditional Greek cake and pastries. The Beach is within a 2 mins walking distance with plenty of sunbeds. The beach is sandy below the hotel but is rocky in either direction.

Excellent quiet location with high quality rooms, and nice dinners served at reasonable price. The hosts were extremely kind and helpful. If you have a car, definitely check out Skala beach, it is 5 minutes drive from the hotel but is much better than the local one, with inexpensive umbrellas and varied places to have lunch.

Perfect place for couples and small families that want to relax. The place is small and well located just few metres from Mounda beach. The host is exceptionally welcoming and make you feel at home. The morning breakfast is served on a spectacular terrace with a great view while listening to jazz or classical music, having a very good variety of choice of homemade baked pies, fruit, anything else you wish. The room is quite big, cleaned everyday with care.

We had a fabulous 2.5 week stay here in June 2023. Lovely quiet location just back from the beach with great views across the sea to Zakynthos and along Mounda and Kaminia beaches to Katelios from both our room (sea view) and the restaurant. The staff running the place were amazing - so helpful and definitely a valuable contribution to how great our stay was. Airport transfer/taxi service provided by the hotel minibus was great - always available and very reasonably priced (cheaper than a taxi). The hotel have their own hire cars available too, whilst we didn't use these on this visit as we already had a car arranged we would use the onsite service in future. The breakfasts (included in price) were outstanding, very filling and variations from day to day to keep things interesting. We ate most nights in the on site restaurant as the food was consistently fantastic with new and interesting specials available each day. Room cleaned, towels and bedding changed regularly throughout the stay. We will definitely be returning here.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left it was perfect. Staff were incredibly friendly and very helpful. The accommodation surpassed expectations. Location was fantastic. Extremely peaceful. The beach was undoubtedly the nicest in the area.
