We stayed in a beautiful cave-style accommodation in Santorini that perfectly combined traditional architecture with all modern comforts. The location was truly ideal, with everything — restaurants, shops, and the best sunset spots — just a short walk away. The atmosphere was magical and authentic, making us feel like we were living a part of the island’s history. A big thank you to Ilias for the warm welcome and smooth check-in, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We would definitely choose this place again!

The shower has a frosted glass window. You can’t see anything through it except shadows but just something to know about.

The property is so so cool. It is so spacious and absolutely stunning. It stays super cool in the summer and nice and dry. The host is incredible and helped us with our luggage. It is a 10 minute walk from the bus station and super close to everything in Fira. Nice and quiet at night and a comfortable bed. Absolutely would stay here again, it’s amazing

There is only one thing to mention about the property that wasn’t perfect. There is a very bad odour coming from the shower and the floor drain by the bathroom sinks. I expect it has to do with the plumbing standards in Greece as compared to North America. This has nothing to do with the owner and we found a fix to the problem. Put a towel or something to cover both the shower and the floor drain by the sinks and the smell goes away. Problem fixed otherwise the smell is quite intolerable.

We stayed for three nights at Johnnie Cave. The owner met us and brought us to our accommodations. He was kind and helpful. Offered his phone number if we needed anything during our stay as well as recommendations about where to eat. The photos of the cave do not do it justice. It’s very clean and unique. Large shower area and separate toilet. There is a sink, dishes, cups, glasses and utensils, tea kettle as well as a small fridge and microwave to use. A nice sitting area outside with a table and two chairs. You are within 5 minutes walking of the centre of town and 10 from the bus stop. Even though you are close to the town centre it’s a very quiet area.

The landlord was very nice. We got up late on the last day of the stay, and the landlord delayed the check-out time for us. And the restaurants recommended by the landlord are all very good.

Can't choose what to say first! Our host Elias was the best! He came to find us at almost midnight (due to our flight cancelation) and answered to all our questions till late at night! He even gave us solutions on what to do the whole next day (till our new flight)! The room was an experience itself, and during one of the hotest nights we had to use a thin blanket without any airconditioning at all! Absolutely beautiful and comfortable, a sight to visit by itself! Our extra day in Santorini was the best!

There was nothing to be negative about this property, the owner was very welcoming and very helpful.

The location was perfect, close to the centre of Fira, yet still in its own quiet area away from traffic and noise. The property itself was unique, keeping very cool during the day due to it being in a cave. The facilities were great too, and the courtyard was very nice to relax in during the evening after dinner. The host was wonderful, and he made the experience significantly better. He helped us with our suitcases, and gave us recommendations for places to go around Fira. He was also available whenever we had any inquiries.

The only negative was there was a small of drains when you first opened the door, having been out. It's quote common in Greece so the owner couldn't really resolve it. We left the door open for a short while when came in, and it cleared it quickly.. Would be worth a couple of plug in air freshners just to help. Definitely wouldn't stop me returning though. Great apartment.

The uniqueness of the accommodation. It was spacious and I loved the his and hers sinks. Nice little courtyard area and only a short walk into Fira. Literally up a few steps and you were on the main road. Location couldn't have been better. Had a fridge and little kitchenette area which was great as we chose to have breakfast at the appt each day.

The photos really do not show how great this spot is! Bathroom and facilities to a very high spec- huge vanity and mirror for getting ready. The spot is perfectly located with Fira on your doorstep- with so much to see and do so close to you, it is incredible value for money. Ilias was warm and welcoming, and very helpful throughout. We cannot recommend this place enough, and will definitely stay again!

This was our favourite place that we stayed in during our time in Greece, and the main reason was the host - Costas was so kind and welcoming, and gave us some excellent recommendations for where to go during out time in Santorini. He also very kindly gave us a lovely bottle of wine on our last night! The cave itself is gorgeous and very modern. The shower is excellent and the beds very comfortable, and it stayed very cool to give us a welcome break from the heat. The location is excellent, barely a 5 minute walk to the caldera or to the bus station which connects to the rest of the island. Cannot recommend enough!

the host Costas was amazing. nothing was too much trouble. the cave Wes bigger and more beautiful than we had expected. there was bottles of water, tea, coffee, shampoo and body wash supplied. location was great.

A bit more work surface required near the sink area for the kettle and food preparation. A few more hooks on walls for hanging towels and coats etc. More trouser hangers and others in wardrobe. More drawer or cupboard space for clothes if staying longer. Lived out of suitcase a bit but we weren't staying long anyway.

Quirky apartment (a cave effectively) which was painted all yellow. It actually looked better in reality, more so than the photographs. Very comfortable and safe to stay albeit we were only there for two nights. Host (Costis) was very friendly and tried to be helpful. Close to Restaurants, shops, viewpoints on coast and bus depot.

the nature of Fira means that parking is challenging, but this is nothing about the property. There was a small odour, but I am sure this will be fixed.

So close to Fira, great to stay in a ‘cave’. Costas, the host, was excellent and available to assist in anything (even helping us by reading Greek to recharge our phones)

Ilias, the host, was amazingly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. As a solo traveller he made my trip to Santorini straight forwards, hassle free and safe. He contacted me directly as soon as I booked, gave me directions to the property, his contact number to make arrival easy and he met me at the property on arrival. He gave me a short guided tour of the town to show me where the main area was, the cashpoint, shops etc. Ilias booked taxis for me to take me and collect me from other towns, gave me an extended checkout and stored my luggage on the day of departure. He even met me with my luggage for my departure back to the airport. I could not have asked for a better host or a more lovely space to stay. Lovely and cool cave, with lovely bathroom area, very comfortable bed, kettle, microwave and fridge and great location just 5 minutes walk from everything. I would definitely stay here again.

The bad water smell and condensation. I expected condensation for being in a cave but the bad water smell really affected my sleep and stay.

The owner was very friendly. He responded and actioned the messages straight away.
