How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).

Verified reviewHotel Marelen is absolutely amazing. The spaces are beautiful and very clean. I especially loved the adults-only pool, which also had a jacuzzi, perfect for relaxing. The staff is incredible, the waiters are very friendly, the housekeeping team is great, and the receptionists are extremely kind. The food was phenomenal. Breakfast had an enormous selection, the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had, plenty of fresh vegetables, fruit, and fresh orange juice, all kept spotless and well-maintained. :)) Dinners were equally excellent, and the desserts were fantastic,authentic cheesecakes, sweet mousses, something different every day, all incredibly tasty. The hotel is conveniently locatedabout an hour on foot or just 8 minutes by car from the airport. A taxi costs around €15–20, which is a bit pricey for such a short ride, but very convenient. The island of Zakynthos itself is stunning and definitely worth exploring. Boat trips are unforgettable,turquoise waters, breathtaking views. We wouldn’t just stay at the hotel, even though it’s amazing.. the island offers so much, and our vacation was truly wonderful. :) thank you Marelen

There was so so small beds, french bad for two is actually for one so it was very uncomfortable and hard to sleep. During the nights very bad smell from outside so windows cannot be opened Very pleasant stuff on checking in but on check out i had to take all of my goods by myself, reception woman rejected to give me vehicle for goods that is open for using all the time so i had to take it to car one by one on not short distance from apartment to the car Parking is included on booking but in real only7,8 cars should par inside the resort so the others are outside on the streets! There were full fightings for single park place. This place not deserves that money, even half of that is too much for this kind of facility.

We're sorry the bed didn’t meet your expectations – though it is indeed a standard double in the room type you booked, we understand that comfort can be quite subjective. As for the outdoor smell at night that only you seem to have experienced, while we’d love to control the outside quality, that’s unfortunately still out of our hands (for now!). We were also disappointed to hear about your check-out experience. Our groom ;porter is available from 08:00 till 22:30 and we do not have any record of you requesting groom assistance for your check out, Our luggage carts are normally available to guests, and we apologize if there was any miscommunication. We certainly don’t expect our guests to take a workout challenge on their way to the car. Regarding parking, yes – it’s included, but space is limited during peak season times, as clearly every guest seems to have the same idea at once. It’s a bit of a beach-town classic: sun, sea, and parking competition. We genuinely value your feedback, and we’ll continue improving. We hope your next stay—wherever it may be—meets more of your expectations, and maybe even surprises you in a good way.

The listing is misleading regarding parking. There is no reserved parking or allocation of one space per booking, as stated. In reality, there are only five parking spaces available for the entire complex, making it extremely difficult—if not impossible—to find a spot. Additionally, the outdoor parking is not secure. The rooms are significantly outdated, and the overall condition does not reflect the photos or description. We specifically chose this hotel because it mentioned reserved parking, which we only received on the first day. After requesting a space so I could safely park my car—the main reason for choosing this property—we noticed a clear change in the attitude of the staff. For the remainder of our stay, several team members treated us with visible discomfort or disapproval, which made our experience even more unpleasant.

Rooms are super small , really have space for nothing. Also air conditioner is opposite the bed( never I saw so strange position for ac) is very bad because u get sick fast and if u have a baby is no possible to use at night. Bed and pillows also was uncomfortable. If is hotel 4 starts and u are upgrade the Hotel I think the rooms also need to fix that guest can sleep good . Some staff from reception was annoying

Verified reviewThis was a lovely hotel with great staff and facilities. The rooms are of a high standard as are all the facilities around. We were half board. The food was very good and we the staff at breakfast and dinner were fantastic - very friendly and engaged with our children making them feel comfortable. There is so much food choice, you won’t be disappointed. The cocktail bar was a nice place to sit after dinner with 3 nights of entertainment, all of whom were excellent. I would highly recommend a stay here - you won’t be disappointed and it is within walking distance to a beautiful beach, as well as the local town centre.
We really did love everything, but if there was anything to change it would be to make all the areas at breakfast and lunch non-smoking, and maybe one extra night of entertainment as we loved it! The Greek night dinner was the best - we loved the local cuisine so to do more of that would make it exceptional!

It's within walking distance of Kalamaki Beach, a safe and enjoyable spot for kids. The evening entertainment was a highlight, featuring talented dancers and singers. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious, and the staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming.
The property is conveniently located near the airport, which can result in some noise from air traffic during the day; however, flights typically stop around 11 PM, allowing for a quieter night. One drawback is that the rooms do not have locking mechanisms, so housekeeping may enter unexpectedly. Additionally, while the location is suitable for beachside relaxation, it may not be ideal for those looking to explore the entire island, as it takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to reach the eastern, western, or northern regions.

Verified reviewThe only positive was the pool and restaurant area, which looked nice and had new furniture and a good atmosphere. I have to admit, though, the hotel clearly has an excellent and very skilled photographer — the photos on the website have nothing to do with reality.
Our vacation was ruined by this hotel. The photos online are completely misleading. The building, reception, and rooms are extremely outdated. Our room was old, gloomy, with rusty fixtures, dirty gray towels, and no minibar — the fridge was empty and rusty. The baby cot they gave us was torn and had to be replaced. I tried to change rooms but all alternatives looked just as bad. The kitchen lacked cold water and dish towels. The beach nearby was dirty and full of seaweed (though that’s not the hotel’s fault). Sunbeds and umbrellas cost 15–20 € per set. The food was average.

Your comments regarding the baby cot are concerning however we did exchange the cot with a new one immediately, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. Please rest assured that we are addressing these issues with our housekeeping and maintenance teams to prevent similar experiences in the future. We also take your remarks about the online photos seriously and will review our visuals as guest trust is important to us, and we never intend to mislead. While we have no control over the public beach conditions, we understand how that can affect your overall impression of the trip. The AC could be colder, and internet connection was poor, but not too much to complain about, there was a fire alarm very late at night at one of the buildings, but otherwise, nothing to complain about.

Verified reviewProperty was super clean and the staff were amazing, especially the staff at the pool bar. Would definitely recommend staying here if you’re in Greece, perfectly located between laganas and Tsilivi.
If I had to be really picky the beds that are put together come apart when you sleep on them, but I don’t know a hotel that doesn’t do that. And it never caused an issue .
