Well equipped small flat, it was entirely made of white marble. Has a small kitchen, une bedroom, TV, a balcony, air conditioning. Agios Nikolaos is so beautiful! Charming town with many restaurants and close to turquoise water beaches. Loved Voulisma. The hotel is 50 mtrs from a fantastic beach and amazing restaurants. It is 10 minutes walk from downtown with super amazing pubs, pedestrian streets, little shops. The staff is what makes this place stand apart. Sofia from the restaurant made us feel at home. She gave us free beers every night. What else can you ask??

The house keeping could have been better. They left the sheets for me to make the bed. Not sure if that is customary. They left cleaning rags behind, which was a little off putting.

If your looking for a beautiful, intimate and friendly place to stay, Mare Hotel Apartments is the place to go. Staff were really attentive and always looking to do more for you. The location itself is right in the middle of town. No exaggeration that it’s a 5min walk to the harbour/town. You have a beach on your doorstep which is where we went to sun bathe as there isn’t any space at the hotel pool (very very small pool area). We were bed and breakfast which was really nice. Everything from cooked to continental. Options for everyone. Right on the beachfront there are several tavernas to choose from for an afternoon snack. All lovely places to eat and drink in the shade. The room was incredibly spacious, bright and clean. The cleaners came in every day. You have air con in both bedroom and living room area.

Facilities The room Air con location Lack of cutlery and crockery needed (we were eating out and only weaning a baby with the kitchen area and we struggled) We didn’t use the pool which we didn’t mind but if you’re a pool person this would be disappointing

When we first arrived at the property we were provided a room, the best way I’d describe it is a basic butlins room from the 80’s. The kitchen facilities were poor, the hob was old and electric and there was no sharp knife and basic cutlery needed to prepare a breakfast. The whole room needed redoing and looked as though it was last updated in the 80s. The bath / shower was less than a meter in length and was over two levels which made is impossible and very unsafe to shower. We had a young baby with us and the room was simply too small. The balcony looked out onto a street. After advising we were not happy with our room, the receptionist did do what she could to help and was very polite however we were not moved until the next day which lost us a night in a decent room and meant we had to repack (which isn’t ideal when traveling with a baby) and wasted valuable holiday time. There was no sponge, washing up liquid or kitchen towel provided which is not ideal if travelling from afar. We stayed in another accomm a few days before and this was all provided. When we were moved the room was basic but did have a lovely view into both the pool and the sea which we enjoyed, had we been given this room to begin with we would not have complained and I would give a slightly higher rating. The room is for 3 people and the second room which is part of the open plan kitchen had no air con and would have been unbearable to sleep in. We moved the cot to our room for this reason, a 3 person group wouldn’t be able to do this though. The hob was broken so we were provided an electric one which again wasted time. The hair dryer in the room conked out after ten seconds of use. There are two buildings making up this accommodation, one seems to be better than the other. However I would say both sides are in desperate need of a revamp! The worst half is hugely disappointing Having said this, the location was good and the staff were friendly, they just didn’t have much to work with

We had a stay for 3ppl, the living room/kitchen area had a bed. And there was no air conditioning in that room! Impossible to sleep in that kind of heat. The main bedroom had air conditioning that was set, you can't make the temperature lower. Making the room abit to warm to sleep in. The bathroom has no windows and is super small. No shower head to use hand free .

Wifi connection was weak in our room.

The view from our room was amazing! The terrace was spacious and with a place to enjoy the sunsets. Hotel room was really big and had everything you might need. The buffet for breakfast and dinner was amazing, and each evening different, including beautiful local dishes and seafood. Our host Sophia made us feel like home from the first evening, exceptional service ! Would definitely stay here again if I ever visit again Agios Nikolaos.

The apartment is near the beach. It is very good when you are with children. The room is big and you can see sea from the balcony:) Very tasty food for breakfast and dinner. You can choose what you like. Everything was good.

We chose half board, both breakfast and dinner was above and beyond!! Many options from fresh grilled fish to beef fillets, traditional Greek cuisine, such as gigantes, stuffed peppers with feta cheese as well as spaghetti bolognese and carbonara, my son's favourite. Soft drinks and wine are served free of charge at dinner time. A variety of Mediterranean salads to choose and cretan olive oil in loose for customers to use. On street free parking very handy. The beach is literally across the hotel! Staff extremely helpful, smiley and friendly . Strongly recommend for families and couples as location is very central,without being noisy Everything within walking distance. King size memory foam mattress- superb!!
