The host Loukas was very friendly and helpful. Spacious and comfortable accommodation with a stunning sea view. Nice beaches and restaurants nearby. Suggest to visit the lovely shop of Loukas for beautiful clothes and accessories. We would definitely come back!

Loved the room. It had all the facilities . very clean and Luckas was very attentive and picked us up from the port...a lovely touch. Great view from the room and a decent sized terrace.

Being extremely picky, it would be better if the path from the property to the beach road was smoother, especially at night

The communication with Loukas was excellent from the moment we booked, and he collected us from the port (and returned us when we left) Makares is on the outskirts of a very small town, but just a 5 min walk along the beach, and you're back at the centre. Our apartment had fantastic views across the sea and across to town. You can set off from here for a walk to Kedros beach 15 mins away. The town beach is beautiful, very sandy and a 200m swim across. The apartment had everything we needed to cook basic meals with a superb balcony with a table and chairs. We also had some chairs for sun bathing. The room had bedding and towels changed every 3 days. Loukas recommended beaches and told us about the bus service, etc They have a lovely shop in town as well. I can totally recommend this apartment and Donousa both a great stay

The bathroom was the least nice part of yhe room. The development had no reception (just a gathering place) and the owner was very busy and not very responsive. Low privacy. There was no cleaning service for my 2 night stay (maybe normal).

The room was spacious. It had a lovely patio and a garden. The kitchen was fully equipped ( although never used it). The development had nice gardens and footways. The different rooms were very close to each other, which made you fell like you were part of a bigger group of people.

Stunning accommodation with gorgeous views and close to everything you need (beach, restaurants and mini market!). The landlords/hosts were exceptional, providing true greek hospitality with an extra special touch. We will return for sure!

Everything about this place is excellent, from the well-equipped rooms with terrace, the beautiful garden, to the friendly staff and the free port transfer. Donousa may be a barefoot, relaxed kind of island, but the owners of this hotel run a tight ship. I can see why so many people come back year after year, and stay for weeks at a time.

Our stay at Makares was perfect. The owner Lukas met us at the port. The apartment was stylish and spacious with a well equipped kitchen. Best of all was the sea view looking across to Naxos. And the sunsets from the terrace were spectacular.

Great host (Loukas) - provided transport to and from the ferry, facilitated a quick check-in and gave us the island basics. Makares is just a short walk to the center of the village. Great seaview, clean - as advertised. Felt comfortable to spend a couple of days there.

There are far too many people on the island in August for the facilities to cope with. Wish we'd gone earlier in the year but that's August allover Europe. The Skopelities tours boat wasn't running due to the wind but that can't be helped. It's nature.

The place was in a great location and the rooms where well equipped and stylishly decorated, comfy bed, chairs and umbrella on the balcony. Loukas was helpful and attentive, always replies to messages. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and made sure your requirements were fulfilled. Spotlessly clean with a lovely garden with herbs and flowers. Beautiful bougainvillea. Great sunsets. Nice walks early morning Donousa is lovely it's well worth a visit.
