Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe only small challenge was the last stretch of the road leading to the apartment, which is narrow and unpaved, but we quickly got used to it.
We recently stayed at a lovely apartment in Corfu, and it was an excellent experience. The location is fantastic—situated on a small hill, overlooking a beautiful green valley filled with fruit trees. The setting was peaceful and perfect for our family of four, including two children. The apartment itself was comfortable and well-equipped, with all the necessary appliances. If anything was missing, the owners were quick to assist, as they live in the same complex. This family-run business has five rental apartments, and the personal touch made a big difference. They even provided us with a beach ball and umbrella, which was a thoughtful gesture. The apartment is just a 15-minute drive from the city center, making it a convenient base for exploring the area. However, having a car is essential, as walking or relying on taxis would be difficult. Fortunately, there is ample parking available on the property. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, and many of them offer delivery services even late into the evening. The owners were very helpful in assisting with ordering food when needed. One highlight for our children was the presence of two cat mothers with their kittens, which provided some lovely entertainment as we had the chance to feed and play with them.

Lithuania2/3 hosts don't speak good English so it's a little hard to communicate and it felt like there was a constant need to ask for things, which is tiring. Shower/toilet is literally part of the room right next to the kitchen, no privacy (it's not separated via a wall, just a big shower door). Water pressure is super random and most of the times it's just non existent - very low. Same with hot water - sometimes it's there, sometimes it's just cold. Toilet flushes and then takes a few hours to refill, sometimes it just doesn't and stays empty so you must fill up a bucket and flush it manually. No natural light so room is dark. Only window is on the door and you must keep curtains/doors closed for privacy because other guests and hosts can see through it. Gets hot because of it, so you must use AC. Noisy in the mornings due to the door being right in front of the parking if neighbors are early birds. Kitchen feels like it's not finished. There isn't a proper way to cook things, only a tiny gas canister for Greek coffee (I made pasta, but it was dangerous), though there's certainly space for a bigger portable stove. We were also surprised to not find any oil/coffee/tea/salt/pepper - basic stuff you would expect to find anywhere else, but we asked and they were provided. Also one small pot mysteriously disappeared one day, so we had to use a super big one and risk tipping it over from the camping gas canister that was in the kitchen. The water kettle is leaking water. Main electric socket isn't working so we had to use a random sockets around the apartment for the toaster/kettle. We notified the hosts but nothing changed. The kittens are small and not disciplined - as soon as they hear a plate, all of them run towards you, try to climb and scratch you with their nails.
Hosts are extremely friendly, staying there felt like with family. We were greeted by Linda with a bottle of water, plate of fresh figs & kumquat. Also gave us a beach ball and umbrella and tried to organize a scooter for rent for us. Very hospitable. Area is calm with a great view. On Friday evening/night we could hear a loud party from a nearby town until 01:30. The room was very clean and spotless. Bed is extremely comfortable and big, the best thing in the apartment for sure. Kitchen has a lot of small bowls, plates, cups, cutlery, a small fridge, sandwich toaster, water kettle and a tiny camping gas stove for Greek coffee. There is a good AC unit in the room. Android TV with working WIFI, though a little slow (we experienced slight buffering in evenings). Outside you have a couple tables with a few chairs underneath a shaded roof, so it's nice and shaded always. Clothes rack for drying. A bunch of kittens running and sleeping around, heaven for cat lovers.

A big thanks to Linda and son Nikos. They made me feel like at home and they are very helpful. Whatever you need they’re there to help you. 100% recommended. I’ll surely come back

AustraliaJust a few basic things in the kitchen
The location in the hills was beautiful and our hosts were so helpful and pleasant. They gave us fruits from their garden and organised our hire scooter. Truly lovely people. You do need a hire car or scooter to get around, then the whole island is easily accessible.
